Swarovski Crystal Champagne Flutes

JUST MADE THESE!

I found these types of flutes at a recent wedding show for $275!! So i decided I would attempt to make them myself for a fraction of the price! I think all of the Swarovski crystals, pearls and flutes totaled about $35. I know I have posted lots of Bling, but I am in Bling mode at the moment and I am almost done with crystal elements...There are a couple of pics with swarovski crystals only on the base and the finished product where they are on the stem as well!

That's fabulous! I was just thinking about trying to do something like that. Are you going to try to bling the cake knife too? I would love to see how that comes out :) Thanks for sharing!

My cake knife/server is already blinged (it came that way) so I'm gonna leave it alone :) I added more crystals and pearls to the stem...will add updated pics soon!

I used the glass and bead (platinum bond) tube from Michaels. It says "Glass and Bead- slick surface adhesive" on the front. It worked great, dried clear so you can't really see that I don't have the most steady hand :) After some trial and error, I found that the best way with this particular glue (since it dries quickly) is to actually place little dabs of glue right onto the glass and then place the crystal on top. For the really tiny pearls, I put a very thin smear of glue (again directly from the tube) onto the glass and picked up 3-4 pearls at once and laid them in.

If you do the bedazzling up the flute, will it be awkward to hold it to drink out of?  And what about the very top where one's lips would go to drink the bubbly?  Will you have to sip on top of the crystal?  I am just wondering about the logistics of the actual drinking.  :)

Not bedazzling up the actual flute. Leaving it as is (just the base and stem).

Loving the flute! I'm going to try this.  How many flutes did you bling with that amount of stones.  Also, how long would you say it took you for each flute?

Cerissa- I only did 2 flutes. The flutes that I bought have a pretty large base. There are flutes with smaller bases that would take less stones.

It took me about 45 minutes to an hour for each one. But I've never bedazled anything before so I was moving slow. But I think 45 minutes is about right. Good luck!
