Withholding information?
Maybe it's time to stop being so open...
Due to the stories from WBC chicas like thefuturemrsgarber, deijahp, and yawolloh11, I have decided to take the specifics of our big day off of the website, like our wedding locations. I don't THINK I have anyone who would want to maliciously stalk or sabotage me and my wedding plans, but I can never be absolutely sure.
It's really sad that I even have to do this. I love all the real WBC brides, and I wish I could share everything without worrying about psychos seeing it too. :( |

Romantic pinks and blacks
Inspiration Board
This is my latest inspiration board. Black, powdery pinks, Ivory, white, and charcoal.
Oh and let me tell you ladies about my new favorite flower obsession.I fell in love with Anemones! They really make the black bridesmaids dresses pop the way I want them to. It feels vintage and 'romantical'. Perfect for our wedding! |

Wedding Program Content
I need some advice about what to include in my wedding programs. I guess that would branch out to what happens in the ceremony. Besides the nuptuals, what other important things are included in a Lutheran/similar religion wedding ceremony, and what should I include in the programs?

Budgeproof, waterproof, NO MOVE eyeliner!
Oh yea, I got the trick!
I have searched high and low for a long time for an eyeliner that does not melt from the outer corners of my eyes, or fade out after a few hours. About a month ago, I bought an eyeshadow primer called Eyeshadow Primer Potion, by Urban Decay.
Not only did it keep my eyeshadow from creasing, what I found was that when I used this product on my eyelids, my eyeliner would last forever! So, I took it a step further. I put a little of the product on the back of my hand, dipped my liner brush in the potion (just a little!) and then tapped/dragged it over my powdered eyeshadow pot (I like to use a liner brush and powder eyeshadow as my liner) and applied to my eyes like normal. It lasted ALL DAY! I tried it the next day with my regular pencil liner...same fabulous result! The product is $16, and you can get it on the net, or at stores like Sephora. http://www.urbandecay.com/categories/EyeshadowPrimerPotion.cfm |

The search for this style bridesmaids dress
Can you help?
I came across this bridesmaids dress (pictures 1 and 2) on my photographers wedding gallery, and for the life of me, I cannot find a style like it anywhere!
I have found a few similar ones, but none that have the pleating all through the dress. I really don't need to match the color in the picture (I am choosing black), just the style. Does anyone recall seeing something like this during yor own BD searches? |

Reception Music!
I also need suggestions!!
Grand Entry:
I'm shipping up to Boston (Instrumental)-Dropkick Murphy's First Dance: Into the Mystic – Van Morrison Cake Cutting: The Sweetest Thing – U2 Dinner: Mix of chill music like OAR, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Buble Garter Toss: Keep Your Hands to Yourself - Georgia Satellites Bouquet Toss: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper Father/Daughter Dance: Paul Simon - Father & Daughter (others I like) Daughter-Loudon Wainwright’s Ben Folds- Still Fighting It Landslide - Dixie Chicks Mother Son Dance: Ben Folds- Still Fighting It What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong Last Dance: One Love- Bob Marley (others I like) Joe Cocker - With a little help from my friends American Pie - Don Mclean Rusted Root - Send Me on My Way I am extremely happy with the picks! I have to run some of them by the FH, but I think he will be happy, especially with the Grand Entry songs. We are both big DKM fans, and at all of their concerts, they play 'The Foggy Dew' before they get on stage. We will play that song first as a intro to our party, while we line up outside of the reception hall. When it is over, we will walk in to the DKM 'I'm Shipping up to Boston' instrumental. Totally awesome! Here is where you lovely ladies come in...I need a song to dance with my sister to! Google is of no help at all. I don't want anything cheesy, and maybe more on the rock side...Any suggestions? What songs are you most excited about hearing at your wedding? |

Advice from one smart cookie
Stalking the Sisters Flowers (florists) blog, I came across some great advice from one of the owners, Emily. I got weepy reading this. It is absolutely true! I hope to get her as our florist. :)
"Ernestine, my bride, I love you so much..." These were the words spoken by my 90-year-old grandfather last Sunday at 2:30pm. My grandmother and my cousin Sarah were each holding one of his hands. He passed away at 3:05. I am so thankful that he was able to say these words to my ailing grandmother, his wife of over 66 years. He was smart and alert right to the end (he was sitting up in bed reading the Sunday paper that very morning!). As my children and I travel to his funeral, it causes me to reflect on those things that are important and long-lasting on this earth. My dear brides, your wedding day is special and important, no doubt. But I wish you deeper things than a gorgeous, fun wedding: May you dance at the wedding celebrations of your grandchildren. May life give you challenges that show you and your husband that your relationship has the staying power you hoped for. May you see your great-grandchild born, grow and mature into young people of whom you are very proud. Planning your ceremony and reception is difficult and sometimes stressful, but remember to keep your focus on the important things. When you are at the end of this life, you will not care that your flowers were not the exact shade of pink that you had in your mind, or that the DJ played the hokey-pokey when you asked him not to at your meeting 8 months ago, or that Uncle Fred got a little too tipsy at the reception and told your new in-laws about the time you were 5 and shoved a pea up your nose at the Thanksgiving dinner table. These are not the enduring things that define your life. Have the best, most gorgeous wedding you can, for sure. But be ready for 60+ years of ups and downs, a lot of joy, some sadness, and a lot of surprises along the way. All the Best- Emily http://sistersflowers.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html |
