MONSTER IN LAW

My MIL has not spoken to me since Labor Day 1978.  She hasn't spoken to my husband (her son) either.  She has never met her granddaughter (my daughter).  She has 5 children, and only one of them speaks to her.  This is the result of being manipulative, demanding and neglectful.  The word Mother should not be used anywhere near this woman's name!

Mine used to treat me like a daughter until me and FH got serious. Now she's polite to my face but thats about it. She's not afraid to express her oppinions to him though nor is she afraid to tell him what he needs to do or just straight do it for him. She was about the only family member not ecstatic that we're pregnant.

I'm sorry.

My mother in law adores me, and thinks the world of me, and treats me like her own. Anytime she hears my hubby even tease me she gets on his case and apologizes to me as if she owes me one lol. She can't wait for us to have kids and she was estatic about our wedding and helped us decorate with enthusiasm.

I sometimes wonder why some mothers do that. I hope someday to have a son and I hope he marries himself a decent woman. I'd like to have a daughter in law someday.

Oh well, put a mother in law and a sister in law together and you get two monsters in law.... ah ah ah... That is what happened to me... Well, I knew since the beginning that his sister is a mean person so I have always tried to be as far from her as possible (she is that negative person who would only judge you and never be friendly). I thought that is mother was a way better than her, but the recently episodes have showed me who she really is... His sister hiding her pregnancy ( the baby is due around the same day as the wedding) to everyone really let me down... But his parents attitude toward us a couple and our wedding is really getting me nervous... Apparently they tell everyone they are very happy, but all their attitudes are AWFUL...
You know what?!? Let's just face the fact they are on a VERY LOW LEVEL!!!

No monster in law problem here. Actually, I want to say I'm overwhelmed by how much his mother adores me. My family gets along okay most of the time, but we were never a real lovey, huggy family that talks to each other everyday. FH's family is. I've gotten over the hugging thing - trust me, it's difficult to adjust to a family so different from yours - but she sends me emails all the time, wants to be my best friend, etc. I don't mind, but she's more involved than my own mother and it's a little weird to get used to.

I think my FMIL likes me, but my FH doesn't get along with her, so we see her as little as possible. She has tried to give her input on the wedding though. I honestly don't care about her opinions. She isn't giving us a dime towards the wedding, so why should I?
