Ask a Question
Kid's table
I need ideas for the kid's tables. Anybody have any great (preferably low-cost) suggestions. We expect 15 or more kids, including our 8 year-old. She started this whole thing rolling by asking "where are YOUR wedding pictures?" after looking at a friends.

Wedding Reception
reception tables
I wanted to get this down so I could finalize it in my head. I would love any suggestions or opinons.
I can't seem to decide what to do for table numbers. Pics #1-3 are possible backgrounds for them. Do you like any of them? Should I make them to match the STDs? This one has me stumped. I used the picture of the table setting with the black tablecloth for inspiration. Thank you to the bride who posted the DIY fortune cookies made from paper. I'm sorry I didn't take note of your name to give you credit. I'm planning on making them as place cards. SO CUTE The tables will be round. I think we will end up with around 75 people, so eight tables that seat ten. Matte black tablecloths Found some great square dishes at Dollar tree to hold the Ikebana table arrangements and I will spray them silver. The flowers: red roses and red Mokara orchids, green fuji mums, green hypericum, horsetail reed and palmetto leaves with aqua seaglass on the bottom and scattered on the table around the centerpiece. red votives candles three on each side of the centerpiece. The napkins aqua, folded on the plate with the dinner menu in them Black chopsticks with dragonflies on them! I love these!!! red takeout boxes with monogram stickers at the top of each place setting (for the candy buffet) These and CDs are the favors I'm planning Aqua fortune cookie place cards the menu on white cardstock with red and aqua text and maybe a monogram or a dragonfly at the top Or tied with red ribbon? clear round plates and contemporary flatware. stemless wine glasses and a glass bottle of Voss water at each place setting Still torn about the chairs, the Invizo chairs I love are expensive to rent, I just saw the chairs I can use at the venue for nothing and they are red! Hooray!! dark red upholstery on the seats and back and black frames. SOOOO, I think I might do a sweetheart table for us with the clear chairs and use the red ones at the other tables. I found a place to buy the chairs I like for $90.00 each I might invest in a pair just for us or I may just rent them. Don't know yet. They would look good in my house! |

Monogram
This could be it
It's coming along anyway
This is the font that is used on all the signage at my reception venue and I have used it on everything I am printing. I hate to use another font. Maybe the ampersand could be a different font. Our last initial is an"I" and it doesn't look like anything! And his last name is hard to spell and pronounce so I'm keeping my maiden name for business purposes. Do you think I need to include our first names in the monogram? Mr. Ninjabride goes by a nickname and just barely agreed to let me use his first initial from his given name on the monogram, but his mother doesn't want the monogram to have a "D" for his nickname. She and his sisters call him by his given name. They are the only ones in the world who have in 30 years! LOL! I even had to agree to put his nickname in quotes after his real given name on the invitations.. He says otherwise no one will know it's him. ha! |

monogram
I have a monogram.... or close
Happy,happy Joy Joy
Oddly enough when I imported it to WBC it seems to have slightly elongated it vertically and compressed it horizontally. Have to figure that one out,but you get the idea. |

Ask a Question
Which tablecloths?
I am going to order tablecloths from CVLinens once I get some idea of how many tables we will have and I'm trying to decide which color and fabric to choose. I love the picture with the black tablecloth and blue napkins. I will go with aqua napkins and the flowers I have chosen will be primarily red with greens. I will be using red votive candleholders on the tables as well. I want to use chopsticks in either red or black and the place cards will be the aqua fortune cookies. I wil either use black, silver or white tablecloths in matte or satin fabric and I might do an aqua tablerunner. Which tablecloth color do you like better? Satin or matte?

Dragonfly poems
More dragonfly poems:
throbbing dragonfly Would you move me gentle, smooth? Row us down the river past the lush-rush grassy banks down the serpentine jewel, a floor of green that sparkles emerald in the sun. Just we in the summer-thick in a polished, wooden rowboat. I would lie, summer flat, finger skimming cool surface - the only ripple in this calm besides the ringed, concentric circles of your steady, dripping oars as you row us nowhere and somewhere Would you lead me to where the willow weeps to the water, her long, fine, ready arms, stretching, yearning. Could we dock our boat by her bank, reed hidden? Climb to the grass; rest by the hayrick in the linden sun. Here where I lay my goods between us Where I share of my basket – honey, pears, wine. Where my ribbon comes undone and is lost to the hay, Where your breath holds all the tastes of summer and of wine. I taste you when we kiss. It is here that the dragonfly throbs. Sadi Ranson-Polizzotti Dragonfly, Dragonfly Dragonfly, dragonfly, Please don't pass me by Wait with me a little while Whilst I look, wonder and smile You, my poetic inspiration Maybe even for Da Vinci's invention Did you teach the planes to fly? You lovely, lovely dragonfly. I can see you poised and still On the leaf, and thus until Blazes the kind summer sun Until coldest winter has begun. Branch, pond, flower and breeze, Wait a while with me now please; We shared the silence, but now You've flown onto another bough Rani Turton DAY OF THE DRAGONFLY DANCE – A Double Cinquain Observe The Dragonfly’s Dignified wing ripple, His orchestrated manoeuvre And float. An inner impulse rent the veil Of his old husk: from head to tail Came out clear plates of sapphire mail. He dried his wings: like gauze they grew; Thro' crofts and pastures wet with dew A living flash of light he flew. In its eyes are mirrored far-off-mountains Dragonfly! The Dragonfly a poem by Patricia Cummings I saw a dragonfly upon the wing, while autumn threatened cold to bring. I pondered the fate of this lovely thing, a gift of creation that made my heart sing. As seasons come and seasons go There is but only one truth to know. Take each day passing slow. This way, again, we shall not go. |
