Wedding of the Century?
OMG, Got to be kidding me...

The father spent a ton of money on his daughters wedding but they live on a fixed income? What is the world is going on when parents allow their 16 year old CHILD to get married?

Story Below:
Check out the belly-ring ... it matches her earrings! So sophisticated.
In the end, making Missy's wedding dreams come true cost her father - who lives in a trailer and surfaces driveways for a living - a whopping $200,000! But as his princess, who hasn't been in a classroom since she was nine and wants to be a glamour model (good luck), posed for photographs, her father Simon, 35, declared it was worth every penny. 'I'm very proud of her today,' he said.

Missy was just happy to be the undisputed centre of attention.
Her dress, studded with Swarovski crystals, and with a 10 ft. wide train, was so heavy that it took ten guests to help her struggle out of the Rolls-Royce Phantom that brought her to the church.

Missy with groom Thomas Moghon, 17, her mother Theresa (who, it seems, forgot to wear a top ...) and father Simon.

'It was huge. I wanted to outdo everyone else's wedding dress,' she said. 'It was extremely heavy and just standing in the church was really difficult. But despite all that, I felt just like Cinderella.'

The bill was around five times the cost of the average wedding.

Missy said: 'It cost a fortune, but I've always wanted a big wedding and my dad has been saving for ages to pay for it.'

Missy met Thomas at Alton Towers Theme park when she was 13. They continued to date despite her traveller family leaving their trailer park in Stoke-on-Trent every summer to tour the UK while Thomas lived with his parents in Wolverhampton.
Missy said: 'I just knew he was The One from the beginning. He's perfect.'

Her mother Theresa, 33, who married Missy's father at 16, said: 'I was surprised they wanted to get married so young in this day and age. But we could see they were madly in love.'

The couple married six days after Missy turned 16 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Congleton-Cheshire.

The bride carried a chrystal bouquet that cost $100000! No fresh flowers for her.

After the ceremony, guests in feathers and crystals enjoyed champagne and an all-day buffet at the reception. Girls as young as nine showed off bikini tops, high heels and make-up. It was a classy affair.
Guest Victoria Docherty, 23, who wore a £700 hotpants and bra outfit, said: 'This isn't unusual - it's just what we do at weddings. It's all very extravagant. Everything is paid for by the bride's daddy.'

Missy and Thomas honeymooned in Turkey before moving into their own $36,000 trailer - a wedding gift from her parents.

I hope this quote doesn't offend anyone (that's the last thing I'd ever want to do!), but it fits this girl to a 'T': you can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl.

the first time I read this article the wedding only cost $100,000. Each time I see it the figures keep getting exaggerated. I'm not so sure this family is broke. They don't really life in a trailer that we picture. Its a very fancy place, that they choose to live in. Plus her mom is also very pampered. She has had several plastic surgery procedures. And each time I see this article somewhere else, the dress gets bigger and heavier. lol.

I think when I read it before, it said the wedding cost (funny L-symbol) 100,000.  I'm assuming the funny L-symbol means "pounds", and the 200,000 would be US currency, perhaps?

this has been around the 'net for 6 months or more already. I posted it when it was published by the Daily Mail. This article fails to mention that Missy is a new-age traveller (a form of a modern gypsy- ever see Snatch? she's like a pikey) and that in their culture the bigger, the more over the top, the crazier & gaudier the wedding, the more respect the family is given by other travellers. Fathers save from the moment their daughter is born for their weddings. If a daughter isn't married by the time she's in her mid-20s, she's pretty much considered a spinster. While we ridicule it and say its horrible, this was her dream wedding.

Oh wow! I'm speechless...I respect custom and all but the display of the mid section in a church? when my sister got married she had to wear a capelet because the catholic church would not allow her to bear her shoulders and back.....but maybe things differ church to church

mrshtobe - I totally agree with you but vintagebabe might have a point that they can't possibly live in a trailer park or the trailer parks in the U.K. are much more posh than here in the US.  The cost of the wedding was listed at 100,000 pounds which equals $200,000 dollars.
This is ridiculous to spend this amount of money on a classless wedding. A fairy tale wedding could have been accomplished with a more tasteful dress. Obviously this couple could use the money in the future since their education is limited to elementary -grade school. Doing the math, we all know why Mum and Dad got married when they did.

Sapphire is right. The over the top, flashy, gaudy is pretty much part of their culture. On everyday basis women wear pounds of necklaces, bracelets, very revealing clothes. The shinier the better.

I've seen a new-age traveller/gypsy wedding in Europe. As you see her father is young but from the moment the daughter is born their whole mission is to throw an extravagant affair.

Its not uncommon for the brides father to pay for EVERYTHING, bridesmaid dresses, "tuxes", guest attire because they want everything to be "out of this world".

Yes to our standards this is pretty insane but in her culture I'm sure it meant a lot.

I think we established that sometimes this article is written in UK pounds and sometimes in US dollars hence the price differances.

Yes, the trailer they live in is much different than what we know in US. This is a group of very materialistic people. Everything they do is over the top.

Its funny to see these pictures. I dont know why it matters if this was posted before. I see plenty of things being posted on here over and over and over. I've seen "When are you having children" question like 20 times!
