Ask a Question
Honeymoon?

Ok I need answers how to deal with a problem. We plan to get married Sat November 9, 2013...well I will be in the middle of student teaching and can only miss 2 days. Well first the plan was for us to stay in a fancy hotel in town on the night of the wedding which is fine with us. We were planning to go to the beach the next weekend Nov 17-20th since we will be out the next Wed-Fri for Thanksgiving but the holiday is 2 weeks (Nov. 28th) after the wedding instead of a week apart!

We want a honeymoon but not so late after the wedding...what would be the point??

We could get married next summer: move up the date or wait until the break or even right before Christmas!

I hope my school will work with me and let me make up the time if we did go to the beach right after the wedding.

Hopefully Jacob will have a full time teaching job so we will have to work with his schedule too. So Thanksgiving break would be the best...but almost 2 wks after the wedding?

I won'r worry about it being so far later than the wedding. Like you said, staying in a nice hotel the night of will be a nice treat, at least you'll be doing something. I think it's fine if you wait. A co-workers' daughter got married in Feb, but they didn't go on their honeymoon until end of June.

If you are really keen on going right after wedding, then you should talk to your FH and see if he would be ok with changing the wedding date to coincide w/ a summer or Christmas break. Go with whichever works for you both!

I was nervous about going on my honeymoon right after our wedding b/c I'm nervous about hurricanes/storms etc, during the end of June. We haven't set it yet, but that's in the back of my mind. Good luck!!

It's ok to wait. We still really don't have a wedding date set, but it will either be next summer here in North Dakota or else next November/December in Hawaii. If we go to Hawaii, of course that will be our honeymoon all in one. If we stay in ND, we might not take a honeymoon for a while. My FH is a farmer and cattle rancher, therefore he is even more tied down than teaching. His only time he could get away would be in December or late November. So, if we do decide to stay in ND and get married, we won't be doing much until December.
We have talked about going somewhere close, AKA: minimoon right after our wedding, but I guess we'll see what happens over time! Good luck!
