Wedding Invitation
*update*
I started printing these invitations I bought from Michael's. The actual invitation card in the middle printed beautifully in my printer. But I had ALOT of trouble printing the smaller cards. This turned into the nightmare I was afraid of. After trying 2 different printers these cards were still printing either crooked or smudged. I ruined almost half of the cards (didn't realize they were crooked until after they were all printed). I attempted to print one RSVP envelope and that came out crooked too. I had to go out and buy two more boxes of invites. I brought them to Kinkos but they can't print small cards like these so I ended up bringing them to a professional printer and paying way more than I wanted to. I totally regret trying to do these myself.

DIY Wedding
guest book table
I'm not a big fan of traditional guest books, I find them a little bit impersonal. I love the idea of using scrap books and wish jars instead of boring guest books. So, that's kinda what I'm gonna do. Everyone will write down their wishes for us and place their card in the apothecary jar. At the reception we're also going to have a photobooth. After the wedding I'll scan all the cards and photobooth pictures into my computer. Using booksmart, which is the best invention ever, I'll make our own custom guest book. Each guest's card will be next to their photobooth picture.

Wedding Reception
cookie favors
My fiance and I are completely obsessed with our dog Violet. When I found out she wouldn't be allowed to be part of the wedding ceremony (for health code reasons I guess), I was pretty devastated. But I still wanted to include her somehow. So I decided to do the wedding favors as cookies, in the shape of her dog breed (Corgi). I was inspired by silhouette cookies another bride did (see inspiration board).
I received a couple sample versions today and they are so cute! The one that I posted is the one I'll use for the favors. But I'm not crazy about the way the baker packaged them. It just doesn't look right with the ribbon, what do you think? I was thinking maybe just a clear bag folded over at the end or some kind of clear box. Any ideas? |

Carnation centerpiece
Here is my first attempt at my centerpiece, I'm pretty thrilled with how it came out. So much more easier than I anticipated too! Got the supplies at Jamali Garden. For those brides in the NYC area it is totally worth making a visit to the store instead of just buying from their website (jamaligarden.com)

Wedding Flowers
Carnations?
Since I'm spending way too much money on other aspects of my wedding I wanted to cut costs with the flowers. I've always hated carnations but who knew they could look so pretty?

Pretty Damask DIY invites
I bought this invitation set from Michael's a couple months ago. Then I read on here that printing the invites is an absolute nightmare. I thought I'd save some money by buying a kit like this and doing it myself, I hope I don't regret it when it comes time to print!
