Random wedding info
Hairstyle, music, programs, etc
Wow, It has definitely been awhile since my last post. I have been hooked to another wedding blog called WeddingBee and since they are much better writers than me, I didn't want to come back! lol But since I only have 28 days left until my wedding, I wanted to update y'all on all the recent decisions I've made... =)

First off, I chose a hairstyle and am getting the trial done on the 29th. That is the first picture. I already have the flower to add, which is what I will wear at the reception.

I found the programs I wanted on Etsy.com. They are amazing! That is the second picture (the programs shown are an example and mine will look different, but have the same feel). They are only $1 apiece and free shipping! Sargegrl is the seller if anyone is interested. It is taking her a little bit longer than expected, but since it is such a great deal, I am overlooking this.. =)

The ceremony music has made me want to pull out all of my hair. I could not, for the LIFE of me, decide which songs I wanted to use for anything! After months of deliberation, I finally figured out my music selections. Here they are!

Prelude: (all from Vitamin String Quartet)
Coldplay- Yellow
Dashboard Confessional- Stolen
Coldplay- the Scientist
Eric Clapton- Wonderful Tonight
Coldplay- In my place

Processional:
Parents and Bridesmaids: Bright Eyes- First day of my life
Brides Entrance: The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony
(both of those songs will be instrumentals)

Recessional:
Coldplay- Life in Technicolor <-- awesome song!!

Postlude:
Flaming Lips- Do you realize?
Tom Petty- Free Fallin'
Radiohead- Reckoner

I know a lot of those songs are Coldplay and it may get redundant but I am in LOVE with that band. Hopefully the guests will understand =)

Anyways, there are many more things I could add but I will leave it at that for now. Only 4 weeks! =)

Wedding Invitation
The font describes my style?
UPDATE! I added a picture of my invitations to help get a good idea of what I'm looking for. Its almost exactly like the picture but the paper is ivory and not nearly so yellow-ish.

I went to Target and bought my invitations last night! They are perfect! I spent $140 on the invitations, envelopes, response cards and thank you cards. That is probably the best deal of the whole wedding planning process. =)

Anyways, now I am concerned about what font to use on them. I have been browsing through so many font sites and not finding very much, especially since I read that the font describes your style. I feel like it has to be perfect now. The four I have somewhat been interested in are Scriptina (pictured), Freebooter, Windsong, and Chopin script. For a formal invitation, what font do you think I should use?

Wedding Decoration
Cute decor for cake table =)
I was on StyleMePretty.com recently and found this amazing post about decor at the reception. I immediately fell in LOVE with one of the ideas (actually I fell in love with all of them but I don't have that much time!) so I went to Hobby Lobby and bought all the resources to make it. After a couple hours, I have all the little shapes and rods painted and now I have to cut them and glue it together to make the tree. (The tree is the top picture, sorry it's kind of small). It should really spruce up my cake table nicely!

Reception Music
Karaoke or no karaoke?
When I booked my D.J., we had a sit-down meeting and talked about my view of the reception. He asked many questions about my music preferences, like what genres to play and which ones not to play, etc. After about 15 or 20 minutes, he asked if I wanted to let people sing karaoke. I was completely dumbfounded. That never even crossed my mind! I immediately said no, as it could turn for the worse really quick, but after a few days of thinking, I may want to reconsider. That would be the perfect way to get people excited and having fun! What do you all think? Karaoke or no karaoke?

Countdown....
UPDATE!! 3 months!
My bridesmaid dresses came in today!! YAY! They arrived two full months early and are so beautiful! They are ivory on top with an espresso brown skirt. =) They are from the Dessy collection but I got them from a store in Florida for half the price! If anyone wants the website just let me know.

I cannot believe there is only 90 days before my wedding. There is so much to do!

-I still don't have a ceremony site (long story)
-No invitations yet
-Haven't gotten MOB or MOG dresses
-No music is decided
-Haven't chosen hotels for OOT guests
etc.

Wow. That's only around 15% of my to-do list. I need to get cracking.

Ask a Question
What readings are you having at the ceremony?
I cannot decide what readings I want during the ceremony. Actually, I don't even know what songs I want to have sang. The latest weddings I've gone too were somewhat corny and "fairytale-ish" and that is definitely not the direction I want to go in. Do you guys have any ideas? Something a little original and not 1 Corinthians?

Also, I'm at my 100 days!! =)

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
He did such a good job =)
I went to visit my FH in El Paso and he surprised me with a ring! =) I thought it would be awhile until I actually got one so it was a nice surprise. He took me up to the top of a mountain at sunset and as we looked down on the beautiful lights of the surrounding cities, he played our song and asked me to marry him! It was so sweet!

Wedding Photography
Chris Humphrey Photography
Looking for photographers was a fairly difficult task. I wasnt sure exactly what to look for and they all seemed good to me. My mom was told that Chris Humphrey was the best in Tulsa so we looked him up and his price range was $3,900-$13,000 which is WAYYY out of my price range. I was thinking $1,500 max! He emailed us and told us to decide what we wanted in a photographer and he could make us up a custom package. We met with him this morning and chatted for about an hour and a half and he said he would give us 6 or 7 hours of photography time, all our pictures would be put online, etc. for only $2,000 since my fiance is in the Army. He is such a nice guy! I'm glad I have found my photographer.

Wedding Cake
and reception food!
On a whim, I stopped at this cute little sweets store to check out cake pricing and ended up putting down a deposit! Whoops. It was so much fun telling the lady what I want and working out a good looking cake. Basically, I am having chocolate square cake with buttercream icing and a mosaic pattern of chocolate on the first and third tiers. The second tier will have chocolate bars lined vertically. I will put a few red flowers on the top of the second tier. =)

The second picture is of these beautiful truffles the store makes. They are TO DIE FOR. I will be getting about 150 of those with a couple dozen cookies of different flavors and of course, my chocolate fountain with a large variety of fruits.

For all the food at my reception, it should be less than $1000! YAY! I saved enough to possibly get an espresso bar....
