Vintagebabe
What happened?!?!??!?!
Oh my goodness! I don't post all that much but I come here almost every day and I just noticed that someone hacked into vintagebabe's account, DELETED everything and posted some horrible things. What is going on?!?!?! Vintagebabe has been a huge part of these forums and I love seeing updates from her and reading her thoughts on other people's wedding ideas. I'm just so shocked right now. Does anyone know what's going on? :(

Bubbles
Letting guests know what it's for
Many of the guests at our wedding aren't familiar with the whole wedding bubbles instead of rice or rose petals thing and I feel it would be awkward just to assume everyone will know what to do with them at the ceremony. I was thinking of adding a small tag to the bubbles that has some cute quote or rhyme that makes it clear that they are supposed to blow them when we walk down the aisle as a married couple. I haven't found anything like it yet. Do you guys have any suggestions? What would you do?
Thanks! |

Any grooms in here?
I just realized that all the blogs I've read on WBC are all from brides. Are there any grooms here as well?
(It goes to show you that it's the bride who does most of the planning!) |

Ask a Question
Activities for guests between ceremony and reception?
The ceremony will begin just after 2pm and the reception will begin at around 5pm. I wanted there to be enough time between the ceremony and reception to take some really nice photos of FH and I as well as our families, etc. We never get proper family photos done and we're investing a lot of money in photography so I want to make sure we have enough time for it. That being said, I feel I need to offer something to our guests during the time between the ceremony and reception. They are both at the same location (ceremony is in the garden, reception is in a hall right by the garden) but it is out in a rural part of town. There are a couple of beaches/parks nearby for families with kids to go play and a lot of our guests are from out-of-town who will enjoy catching up with friends and family but I want to make sure that we offer something else for those who might feel bored or out of place.
We'll be serving some punch and appy-style snacks during this time. Kids are relatively easy to take care of (colouring books, stickers, toys and possibly a scavenger hunt?) but I'm not sure about the adults. Do you guys have any suggestions? What are you planning to do for your guests between the ceremony and reception? |

Cake Flavours!
A friend of mine will be doing our wedding cake. Since we only have 50-60 guests it will only be two tiers. Since she's starting out her own cake business she said she could experiment with different cake flavours and try out some unique ideas. FH and I both like the idea of chocolate mint for one layer but we can't think of anything else that sounds universally tasty but also unique.
What cake flavours are you guys having? Are you doing a different flavour for each tier? |

How will you be doing your nails?
I'm not a big fan of acrylic nails or anything fancy. I even find that a single coat of nail polish makes my fingers feel weird. I also know that nails complete the polished look. I like the look of French nails but I generally keep my nails very short so I'm not sure I could pull it off. I also don't want to get my nails done and have the pay the extra money for it - this wedding is already expensive enough!
What are you guys doing for your wedding nails? Are you going to keep it tame (french nails, very soft) or are you going to go all out with some fun designs and bright colours? |

Bridesmaid shoes - heel or no heel?
I am a 5'2" bride who is having two bridesmaids in my wedding - both of them taller than me. One of them is 5'11" so she already towers over me! I'm not super comfortable in really high heels, but I know I'll have some heel in whatever shoe I choose.
My question is, what kind of shoes do you recommend for my bridesmaids that are nice but don't have a lot of heel to them? I'd prefer them not to wear flip-flops or anything that's really casual. Got any suggestions? |

Hello!
My first post!
Hello everyone! I've been browsing this site for several months but I haven't made any posts so far. I've been very inspired by all of your ideas and have used some of them in my own wedding plans. I realized a couple weeks ago that this is truly a community - when a few of the other popular brides such as vintagebabe, divadan80, and irishpocahontas got married, I felt this sense of joy as if we're all experiencing our weddings and plans together. I felt that I should join in the mix and post some of my plans, ideas, thoughts and questions.
And welcome to any other new bride-to-be's! WBC is the BEST place for wedding planning! :) |
