wedding Make-up Trial
Wedding Make-up trial
Choosing lovely Fashion Fair for my wedding make up!! However the lady made my face a tad too light lol! If you look at my shoulders and then my face, you will see what I'm talking about. I'll have to go a shade darker in the future but other than that I think she did a wonderful job!!

Wedding Hair Style
Hair trial #2
Still like the bun to the side idea, and this is the more "glam" option that my MOH would want. I like it but the hair style, but it doesn't function well. The bun fell out in the few hours just from walking around. By the end of the day it was a pony tail! The other one lasted a good week before it fell. So I like this one, but the other hair style lasts longer, decisions....decisions....

Ask a Question
Glasses or No Glasses?
This is really for the ladies who wear glasses, but are you wearing your glasses or wearing contacts for you wedding? My mother wants me to wear contacts because my glasses shield my face. It doesn't matter to me either way, I still look the same lol.

Wedding Hair Style
Hair Trial #1
My first choice for wedding hairstyle. My MOH says it's too plain but it's the hair style that's the most "me" since I wear my hair back most of the time anyway. Going to try another one this friday and see what happens with the more "glam" bun that my MOH picked out for me LOL.

Wedding Decoration
Yoruba Tasting Ceremony Glasses
My Mother is always trying to be a little different so she wanted to do a Yoruba Tasting Ceremony instead of jumping the broom.
It is a ritual adapted from a Yoruba tradition, the bride and groom taste four flavors that represent different emotions within a relationship. The four flavors typically used are hot (tabasco) to represent the times at the beginning when the relationship is "hot" lol. Then there is sour (lemon juice) to represent the hard times in marriage. Then there is bitter (vinegar) to represent when, at times, you are angry in your marriage. However, if you can endure all of this and keep love in the relationship then your marriage will be the last flavor, sweet (honey). By tasting each of the flavors, the couple symbolically demonstrates that they will be able to get through the hard times in life, and, in the end, enjoy the sweetness of marriage. I found these glasses for real cheap at Target and I especially love the different colors that they have!! |

Wedding Flowers
My DIY bouquets
I'm getting my bouquet done with real flowers, but the brides maids and jr. bride are not, so I was asking my florist if there were any way to make their bouquets less costly and she just gave me these foam holders for free!! Such a nice lady!! I basically looked up a cute bouquet on the internet, went to Garden Ridge, and made my own bouquets @ home!! The pink ones are for the bridesmaids and the white and green one is for the jr. bride.

Bridesmaids
Man!!! So Many Changes!!!
I have had it up to here with the bridal party! LOL! First one of my bridesmaids drops out because of her getting pregnant. She would have been 8 months pregnant by the time the wedding happened and didn't want to spend money on the dress and hair and makeup when she could have been spending it on her baby. Understandable, so I called up my cousin to replace her.
My cousin didn't answer right away so while I was waiting, my brother calls me and says the HE can't be in the wedding either because he got a job on a cruise boat and will be in Jamaica in April...O.O. Ok, I guess there is nothing I can do about that. Then I think about it...I have an even amount of groomsmen and brides maids! it all worked out anyway! Of course THIS is the moment I get a call from my cousin who says that she would LOOOOVE to be a bridesmaid. As she is gushing about how she was never in the bridal party before and that she is so excited to be in my wedding, I feel my self dying a little inside...I just didn't have the heart to tell her that I already had an even number of groomsmen and bridesmaids so I invited her on board which now puts my bridesmaids at 4 and my groomsmen at 3. While this was all happening, It kind of slipped my mind to tell my lovely Groom any of this information. So imagine his confusion when I call him at work and say "Your uncle is going to be in the wedding party, call him and let him know." and then hang up. But Phil, with his lovely psychic abilities some how figured out that someone must have dropped and called his Uncle right away, who also said yes, yays!!! So at the moment, we are safe. And the bridesmaids aren't going anywhere because they all have their lovely dresses ordered!!! Sweet! |
