Day of Wedding Coordinator?
I have been doing this wedding all DIY with some help from family. Our intentions were to have a couple family friends at the venue site before the reception started to make sure all candles were lit, that vendors were set up, etc. But the more I have been thinking about it, I am contemplating looking for a day of wedding coordinator to make sure all of that is done. Just because although you may tell people things, it's human nature to question and I may not be available to answer my phone if they do have a question. That is why I am thinking about having someone professional, who I don't know to do it. That way if something happens, our friends don't feel bad and we are not upset with them.
Does anyone have a day-of coordinator? If so, any advice? |

So if anyone has ever followed my blog, you would know that I've had some problems with my maid of honor. She's acted like my wedding is her wedding and has tried to push me around. Well, the other day I sent an e-mail to the bm saying that at times my feelings have been hurt and that all I want to do is enjoy this process. Apparently that is too hard for her to deal with....
So, on facebook..FACEBOOK of all things..I got this e-mail from her saying that she's too stressed out about it and that she's done all this stuff for my wedding and that she just can't take it..and resigned (for the SECOND time), as maid of honor. She went to one dress fitting and went to Michael's with me one time...and the rest was a log of pushing me around and telling me what I needed to do...or just not calling me but ganging up on all the bridesmaids telling them that they need to pay her this much because she has spent this and that. So I called her and talked to her (like adults do) and attempted to discuss things with her. Needless to say, she went on this big tyrade how I'm like, "It's all about me on my wedding day." I told her that I was hurt because she was supposed to be my friend and all she's done is give me attitude and then when she doesn't like that I stand up to her, she runs away. She then proceeded to throw around that wonderful f* word at me, tell me that I am just too involved in things, and that she's over it. I'm sorry....whose wedding is this? Obviously I was upset about it because she was #1 a coward for sending me a fb message, #2 ganging up on my sister, who is the matron of honor, and making her cry, and #3 because she isn't the friend I thought she was. So I cried, for 5 minutes. And then I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders and that I finally had a chance to enjoy MY WEDDING. That's right, I said it. It's MY WEDDING. I'm not so upset on the whole bailing with close a 30 days left, it just shows that even though you may be 25 years old, you can still act like a 10 year old and be completely immature and selfish. Our wedding party actually works out this way, 3/4 of the drama is gone, and I am..for once, super excited!!! If anyone else has experienced, I'm sorry for that. But if you are like me, it doesn't really bother you. ***AHHHH*** I think I may actually sleep really well tonight. |

So we officially have our ride! One of our friends has a 1957 White Chevy Bel Air that he's redone...and has agreed to drive us around on the wedding day! I'm excited about it, just hope it's not too too hot. The picture that's up isn't one of his car..but it's close!

Place cards & rehearsal dinner invites..when to send?
Hi again ladies! Busy busy busy before I have work nights ALL WEEKEND! BLAAHH!
We received the rehearsal dinner invitations in the mail today..only took 3 days! I ordered them from Vistaprint and for 20 I paid $21. I also did a mock up of the place cards for the immediate families. I just have one question...when should I mail the invites out to the wedding party? I was thinking 4 weeks before, but I'm not sure. Can anyone give me some tips?? Happy planning to you ladies! I'm off to tanning before work. |

Here a mock up of the entrance table with the sign for no seating arrangements and for the guest wish basket. Let me know what you thing. I'm completely and utterly stressed out with things needing to get done and with bridesmaid drama...can't wait til the day!
Let me know which picture you like and if you like it w/ or w/o the doilie on the trunk. The basket isn't the basket we're using...my mom has the actual one at her house. The glass pillar will also have more inside it, I just need to get it! |

Bridal Shower
Got my dress & hat
More got done today....even though it's only been a few hours!
I got all the votives for the reception, cut all the cardstock for the guest wish basket, and then...I got my dress & hat for the shower. I got both at Ross for $30 total. I liked the dress because it has green and has the waves that somewhat simulate the cat in Alice in Wonderland. The hat is big and can be flipped up whichever way. I'm going to Michael's again to get some things to embellish it. If anyone is wondering why I make so many trips, I literally live 2 minutes from the shopping center. Thank goodness because I forget lots of things. Happy planning ladies!! |

Wedding Planner
Down to Crunch Time!
We got a lot done yesterday! We got all of the direction/hotel block inserts done, postage applied, & all sealed! I'm mailing out the invites this week....FINALLY!!
We also stained 75 sheets of cardstock so that they have the vintage/worn look...took over 3 hours! But it's going to be worth it in the end. Only about 100 more! I also figured out where to get the votives for the wedding...Michael's. I got a pack of votives for $7 & lit them at 6:30pm last night. STILL BURNING today at 10:15am. I think that's plenty of burn time, don't you think? I only need about 8 hours out of them. The bridemaids are mailing out the shower invites this week & I know nothing about what they're doing. They also are planning the bachelorette party & I know nothing! I'm not used to this...kinda makes me uneasy. Now I'm off to get some more mason jars, votive candles, & a hat for the bridal shower. At least I know it's a Mad Hatter theme. :) |

First Dress Fitting & ?'s
Soo....60 days! Didn't think it would come to this but now I'm feeling the pressure.
Invitations are all done except for the hotel block and direction inserts. *Note to those: go to the post office to make sure you have correct postage. I went thinking "just in case" and it ended up being $0.64 for postage vs. $0.44 due to the fact that we added a ribbon onto the invite. Good thing we make the RSVP into a postcard ($0.29 for postage). Annnndd....I had my first dress fitting! I definitely need to work on my arms and my tan..quite disgusting what my arms look like in pictures. I was really nervous about the veil because I had these thoughts that it would be the thick toule that would stick up. But my very thoughtful mother ordered the thinnest toulle veil and had them put Swarovski crystals on it...LOOVE it! I almost started crying again! No matter how stressful things can get, in the moment I had my dress and everything on I forgot about them. I'm just so excited to meet my fiance at the altar and become his wife. We also got the unity candle. We were going to do sand but I wanted a top and couldn't find one. So we found a candle at Wal-Mart for $20. I'm not real picky on it so it doesn't matter to me! I have a question...anyone know where I can find some cheaper votives that will burn for 5+ hours? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I hope all those with 60 days, or not 60 days, are doing well!! |
