Have you thought about just you and him?

One thing I must admit is, my hubby is really romantic. (smile)
Hubby mentioned to me that he wants me to consider having just us (him and I) on the beach alone for our renewals. If we don't do this renewal ceremony with 27 guests, he still would like to be alone (just us). That is fine with me, but now that our guests know about it and are so excited about going to our island destination makes me think, shall we? We have done renewals before, but just the point of the whole thing is, our guests already know about it and are looking forward to it. He did consider, still having our romantic vows alone and celebrating at the reception afterwards with the guests. Hummmmm?

Have you considered to just elope or get married romantically by yourselves? Are you setting up some quality time together without your guests around? This is a perfect example that all of us girls should use with our new hubbys, or husbands. After the ceremony and /or during the reception, just the two of you. It will give you time to reflect on what is taking place and absorb your special day.

Back when I was trying to talk Mr. H into eloping, the thought of 'just us' popped up.. but, then he realized we'd need witnesses, and his parents would be upset if they weren't there, and then my dad chimed in that he HAD to be there.. it just woudn't have worked out. A renewal might be different, however.

I definitely have thought about it. He and I even talked about it. We both wanted to do a similar thing. Just the two of us and an officiant on the beach, but being as he's the only son and the youngest of his parents children, it just won't fly. So many family members will be devastated (as his mother has expressed) and some friends would be offended. But if we could have it completely our way, that's how we would do it.

Back when Damien, and I first started making wedding plans I have always had the idea of just him and I on a tropical island getting married. I brought this to his attention, but he always say no, I want our family and friends to witness this moment. Since the course he has been gone. I really want us to be alone when we get married so, I am going to look into all the info that I can get and email him. We don't need all of this. I am ready to get married now..

As a matter of fact, yes. We will be doing this! I think this is a great idea. Most of us with planning don't think of these things. Thanks for bringing it to life. Sean says, he loveds this idea!

I'm not sure I could do it.. although I'm sure my FH would be all for it. I've always pictured my family/best friends/kids there though so, He would never get it that way! Plus, FH is too close to his family to run off I think. We might do it for a Vow Renewal though :)
