I finally finished my ceremony programs this weekend. They took a little longer than I thought but I'm happy with them.
I printed on grey cardstock, for the outside pages and then grey paper for the inside, made 4 hole punches down the side, weaved ribbon through and made a bow. Not too shabby. What do you think? |

Wedding Hair Style

Over the May long weekend I had my hair and make-up trials done, and I loved them.
I wanted a simple updo, lots of curls where I could wear my veil underneath and then also fit with my sparkly headband. makeup I wanted a smokey dark eye. we will likely make a few adjustments the day of, like make the hair tighter, more bobby pins because it fell really fast, and the make-up i may go a bit smokier, but i'm really happy with the results. i can't wait to see how it all looks together! |

jack 'n jill. mardi gras style.
A few weeks ago (May 21st) our wedding party and families threw FH and I an amazing Jack N Jill. It was soo so so sooo much fun!
I just wanted to say a huge thanks to them for making it such an awesome night! Half the room was kind of a casino section - very popular, and the other half was a carnival with popcorn, king's cake, a dubloon toss, golf and we even raced goldfish with straws!!!!!!!! There was a bit of dancing, especially near the end of the night and it all would not be possible without the help of the wedding party. Specifically my sister the MOH and my parents with help from my aunt and uncle and FH's parents too. laissez les bons temps roulez! |

the wedding favours are finally finished and ready to go.
we decided to make strawberry jam last summer, FH and several other family members hand-picked the berries, then we cooked up the jam and canned it. now I have finally finished putting the fabric tops and labels on each of them. and i think they turned out pretty cute. what do you think? |

 lovely plastic cutlery in a beautiful rose bowl... juxtaposition. tea favours tea favours with a giant flower pretty centrepieces - teapots and painting the roses red tea cups lots of delicious goodness table with wedding colours tea cups eat me a bunch of lovely ladies food food food pretty centrepiece judging the wedding dress competition so hard to pick, who wouldn't want these dresses made of toilet paper? decor so lovely opening gifts my cousin-in-law and kick-ass aunt my lovely MOH helping me out having fun the winning dress my mimi, looking at prim and proper in her hat my bridesmaid embarrassing me... me and my mom, a couple of bridesmaids and my newest cousin bridesmaid and her brand new baby boy audrey and nolan. the two newest additions to my group of friends, so cute lovely ladies me and the MOH - the best MOH ever gorgeous drink me centrepiece in a teacup kid's area                                          |

what an amazingly amazing MOH and mother I have. My MOH (with tons of help from my Mom) planned such a great shower. It was semi-Alice in Wonderland themed, but more focused on the idea of a whimsical tea party with pieces of the mad hatter tea party pulled from it.
everything was brightly coloured, the centrepieces were gorgeous - you will notice some of the flowers are painted, i.e., "painting the roses red", and there are flowers in tea cups and juxtapositioning with the plastic cutlery in the really nice bowl. the tea cups and saucers were all mismatched (much to the dismay of my grandmother). and we drank everything from tea cups and it was served in tea pots, i.e., lemonade, ice tea and even wine. there was some tea and coffee available for those die hards though. i went for the white wine. everyone was instructed to wear their best hat to the party, and my sister (MOH) and mom made me a super cute fascinator. we played some really fun games, like who knows the bride best and we had a competition for who could make the best wedding dress out of toilet paper and a few pieces of tape. you will see the photos of these beautiful dresses. it was really hard to pick! i got some amazing gifts as well, it was just a really fun day. so thank you thank you thank you to my MOH and my Mom. AND my bridesmaids for helping out with everything and my Aunt Bev who baked all the goodies for the party and they were absolutely delicious. |

this week at my work they suprised me with a shower!!!!
my boss and one of my friends/co-workers planned it all and threw me a really fun time! I was completely shocked and no idea that this was happening at all, in fact when I walked in the room I didn't even realize that it was a shower for me in the first place... until I saw the lovely pirate and princess pictures of FH and me..... (see attached photos). it was a mardi gras theme and we played some fun games and ate delicious food... the cake was to die for, strawberries galore, mmmm. they got us a gift card to one of the stores we are registered at, as well as a really pretty frame with a photo of FH and I, and they put together this amazing cookbook. everyone submitted recipes and it was put together really really nice, with fancy paper and it will be such a fantastic keepsake. aren't my co-workers awesome!!! |

the first weekend of April, FH's family (specifically his Auntie Mary) threw us a shower!
it was really fun... we did a game where you had a famous wife on your back and you had to guess the husband, and they all wrote a hilarious poem while I opened gifts. each person added a line and then they made me stand up and read it. the whole theme centred around our colour scheme, so everything was purple and orange and it was awesome. so i just really want to say thank you to Andy's family - I love my future in-laws! P.S. I have 2 more showers to blog about, so stay tuned! |

Wedding Flowers

a couple week's ago FH and I met with the florist to finalize our selections for wedding flowers and I can't wait to see the final product.
i am having a bouquet of all dark purple calla lilies with strands of bear grass, FH is having a purple calla bout. ladies have orange gerbera daisies, and the men have ceasar orchid bouts (as will grandparents, parents, readers, etc.) centrepieces will be made up of purple alstromaria's and lavendar roses, in a vase of sliced oranges (kind of like the lemons photo), with silver/grey ribbon wrapped around the top edge of the vase. pretty. pretty. pretty. |
