Wedding Favors
Homemade Strawberry Jam

Last weekend Andy, my parents and myself made our strawberry jam wedding favours! I realize we have made them about one year in advance but hey strawberries were in season then and I really don't want to be doing it next year in June.

Here are photos from our jam making process... I'll post more photos when they are actually ready to go.

Still to do:
- put labels on front with 'strawberry jam'
- cover with purple fabric and tied with orange ribbon with grey paper note that says:

- shout out to dahliadarling for 'spread the love'

Awesome, and it's so good to be prepared! This will save you lots of time, and thankfully the jam will keep so why not be early?

Did you use the 125ml or the 250ml?  I'm doing strawberry jam as well (for 300 ppl) and I'm buying my jars next week. It's a toss up between the two jar sizes.  I can't decide and they're the same price!  I'm going to the states this saturday to see if jars are cheaper.

melee2009 - we did both, but mostly the 125mL.  It may be cheaper for the jars, but you have to double the amount of ingredients needed to fill the jars.

we did enough for all the guests in the 125mL and then finished off what we had left of ingredients in the larger jars, and there is enough for the wedding party for those ones.

Your jam looks great!!! It's nice that you had so many helpers. We are going to use pliad fabric on ours to tie in with the kilts.

Don't know if you'll see this message, but this idea is brilliant and so unique from what I have seen at weddings.  If you don't mind sharing how much would this DIY cost?  I'm thinking I would need about 80 Jars.

i can't recall the exact total of what this cost us, but it was approximately $200 I think for the jars, strawberries, sugar and ingredients for the jam, and the fabric and ribbon for the tops that we did.  Maybe even less than that, and we made about 170 jars.
