Ask a Question
Father of the bride suit
My mother asked me what I want my father to wear...and I am undecided.
My groom will be wearing a solid black suit, black vest, white shirt, and pink paisley tie. Groomsmen: Dark gray slim fit suits, white shirts, silver paisley ties. Ring bearer and page boy: Solid black suit, solid silver vest, and solid silver tie. FOB??? I kind of want him to wear black too, but not a black vest like the groom or a silver vest like the kids. Maybe a gray suit and matching gray vest? Maybe a black suit, pink shirt, and black vest and black tie (even a black one as long as the shirt is not white? Or maybe a gray shirt? idk....what would FOBs wear? (I'll have pink shoes and a white and pink bouquet). |

Wedding Gift Registry
In a rush
We did our wedding registry in a rush bc...well, idk. It's the frustration of not knowing when things should get done. For example, when my FH proposed, he thought we'd be married within 3 months, with wedding and all, and I was like.."No honey, it takes longer than 3 months to plan wedding." lol
I am not very familiar with wedding planning. We got engaged Oct 30 2011 and the wedding is less than 2 months away, That's 6.5 months of planning...From what I've seen, a lot of brides here plan their wedding in at least 1 year....some even close to 2 years! I haven't had a weekend rest in the last 2 months...picking up rings, meeting photographer, meeting honeymoon friends (the ones paying for our honeymoon), working of invitations and favors, jewelry and makeup shopping, suit shopping for groomsmen, makeup trial, 1st dress fitting, wedding registry, handing out bridal shower invitations, and for today it was painting the porch. We're having our bridal shower at my house because there was not enough time to book a place anywhere....and that's why my mother and I had to paint the porch...,make it look nice. I am not stressed....really. Just tired. And I am not saying that I am not enjoying all of this, I'm just saying that it is tiring for me. BUT... ...After going wedding dress shopping and trying on all the gowns, I have to say that doing the registry is also one of the most fun experiences of wedding planning!!! We did ours at Target and Belk. And I really hope I get that toaster oven...that's what I really want actually ? :::Why is china soooo expensive!?!?! I know it's good quality and all, but come on.::: |

Wedding Dress
Shoes
I realized I hadn't posted a picture of my shoes that I got.
I really liked them. Pink as you can see, and it has a satin rose in the center with other tiny roses on the side. I think it's too small to see them well, I don't know why the pictures came out in thumbnail size. They are Caparros Lidia, and I got them from ebay, brand new and cheap (or at least they smelled new, lol) |

Flower Girl and Ring Girl
Dresses
My flower girl and ring girl got the same dress at belk for like less than $45. I believe that's cool, compared to regular dresses running from $70-$100+ at bridal stores.
My 3 year-old ring girl actually chose the dress...I picked two that I liked and asked her which one she liked...she said "I like the one with the bow" ^_^ I picked 2 headpieces and I let my flower girl's family chose between those two. And They picked this one....it's a pearl crown with a ribbon as you can see =) which I bought yesterday online. |

Wedding Invitation
The boxes I got
I've always wanted boxed invitations!!
I got these for less that $1 each from this website...but they were even cheaper on ebay.com...oh well. They are silver with a linen feel to them. I added a sheer fuschia to the cover of the box and a small bow and I covered that cotton thing in the inside with fuschia tulle =D I really like them...but it was a lot of work covering all those cotton inserts...drove me crazy with the hot glue gun for a few weeks =O |

Wedding Hair Style
Tiara
I've always wanted a tiara and I got my tiara like last month for $28 from light in the box.
I really like it. It sparkles so much, like diamonds...but it's cubic zirconia...or something like that. And I love how it feels. It weighs...so I guess it good quality. It's not so light. And you can see the 3 small flowers in the center with bigger flowers and leaves steming from the center. I went with a floral theme for my attire. My shoes are pink with roses on them, my ella rosa dress has flower detail on the waist, and my tiara is also flowers. I wanted my veil with a floral embroidered edge or floral beading...but it was so expensive...so I went with a satin cord. So I'm good if something about me is not floral =) I will post pics of the shoes and veil later. Oh, and my jewelry will also be floral ;) Hehehe...I hope I don't look like a garden on my wedding day XD But I wouldn't care anyway |

DIY Wedding
FG and RB bears
I bought these small bears and decorated them with ribbon, one bear has like a "ring pillow" and the other has a cute basket with tiny flowers inside....cute ;)
And I made and added a ribbon flower to the cover of the silver boxes. I gave the ring boy the bear and the box...but I gave my flower girl only the bear and made her a lollipop bouquet instead...and I gave the box to my other ring girl since the cover the box sort of represents the pillow....I want silver pillows with a pink blossom. The kids were happy either way =) My ring boy and ring girl are age 3.5 and 3....and my flower girl is 8. I'm happy to have these wonderful kids in my wedding ^_^ |

Wedding Cake
Something like this...
I've decided from the beginning that I wanted a cascading cake. I want to see something different and where I'm from, all wedding cakes come in a tower, one cake on top of the other, or with bridges and ladders. But I'm sure cascading cakes are the usual thing somewhere else.
I'm still undecided and confused, but all I know is that I want a 5-tiered cake decorated with simple but pretty pink flowers, all in cream cheese icing, and one of the layers better be red velvet with strawberry filling and topped with white chocolate shavings. My mouth is watering =),, ,, ,, ,, |

Wedding Beauty
Eyebrows...err
I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time. I had never had them plucked or done anything to them. Yep, at 23 I finally got them done.
I was okay at first. But now, 4 days later, they are red and I have bumps all over them, like pimples. My FH laughs at me and I ask him "was it worth it?" He says," sure" and laughs again. I give him the I-am-not-pleased look. OhMiGoh, I really hope this goes away SOOOOOON!!!!!! I can't look liked this. I guess it's an allergic reaction to wax??? I also want to wear makeup for the wedding and I've never worn makeup either....I hope I don't have another allergic reaction to that either. argh! |

Bridesmaids
Dresses
I had written a post about this dress, but I don't know what happend with WBC and it didn't save the post, but it saved the photo. It's frustrating and I don't feel like writing it all over again.
But this is the chiffon dress for my bridesmaids that they will be wearing with their fuschia heels. We got it a a very very very light shade of gray almost white, but it won't look white against my white wedding gown ;) And I couldn't find my maid of honor's dress, but hers is a light silver satin Eden dress (to match my satin wedding gown) with a dark gray sash trim and dark gray flowers on top (the groomsmen will wear dark gray suits with light gray shirts and a fuschia/gray tie). We were happy girls in the end =) |
