As of this week our wedding is in 4 months! Holy mother of flying monkeys!!!!
Although part of me feels like things are moving along fine, my fiancee and I realized this weekend that we have a ton of things to do still. There are a lot of plans and ideas in my head that I need to put into action - ASAP!
So, over the last week I finally accomplished a few things that have been hanging around, in a strange amorphous, half-planned, half-dreamed state in the back of my brain.
I booked a photographer. Today. Finally. Tragic that it took so long. Classic case of champagne taste on a beer budget with this little item. I had found a photographer that I really liked but when I sent an inquiry I never got a response. After shopping around to other photogs, I hadn't found any that I liked nearly as much. I decided to send another inquiry and it turned out that she's been booked out of town for months. But is available for my wedding and seems really fun. And reasonably priced! Yippee!
Finally sat down for a few hours with my SIL to plan flowers. Keeping the flowers pretty low key- bouquets for me and MOH, bouts for FI and Best man, kissing balls for outside the church. That's all. We found a bunch of great flowers and she's going to start figuring out costs, etc.
Booked a bakery for the cupcakes! Its really close to the reception area (technically its the next town over, but only 15 minutes drive) so we'll go for a tasting on our next visit out to the mountains.
Booked our hotel room for a few days before the wedding and after. The room was blocked off, but we hadn't actually booked it until this weekend.
Still need to do:
- Set actual ceremony time with the minister and plan readings
- Set actual times for reception with the resort
- Print invitations
- Choose menu for dinner
- Finalize centrepieces
- Table numbers (need frames and labels)
- Escort cards (I'd like river rocks- where do you get them so that they're big enough to write on?)
...And about a million other things that may or may not come to mind immediately...
