Invitations are (almost) done!
After 48 hours of fighting with my printer, formatting and reformatting, and sticking a bunch of little pieces of paper to other pieces of paper, they are ready to be addressed and sent!
I wish I hadn't spent so long staring at them that all I see is mistakes though :( Only 9 more to make and they are going out the door! (and sorry for the crappy blurry photos!!!) |

Ask a Question
to boudoir or not to boudoir?
My FH isn't particularly interested in sexy underwear and the like - I bought some early on in our relationship and he didn't even notice. When I pointed it out to him he said that it didn't really do anything for him. He actually prefers me looking less made-up and more natural. In general I'm OK with this because it's money I don't have to spend :)
Now that our wedding day is approaching I think it would be a lot of fun to do a boudoir shoot and show him pictures of me like he's never seen before. The catch is, of course, these things aren't free, and I don't know if he would even like them. Don't get me wrong, he finds me all kinds of sexy, I am just afraid that he wouldn't like them or worse, be embarrassed by them - afraid his family would find them or something. What do you guys think? Should I show him samples of this type of photoshoot and see if it's something he would like to see? Or is the element of surprise a big part of it? I just don't want to spend hundreds of dollars only to find out that it's not appealing to him. |

floral/feather fascinator
I love these for my bridesmaids (and myself!) and they don't look terribly difficult to make. Have any of you made something like the one in the picture? Can you point me towards a tutorial if you used one?
Thanks! |

100 days!
Can't believe the time is flying by! It seemed like a lifetime away back over the winter but now that the summer's in full swing it's absolutely time to stop dreaming and start doing!
I typed up all of my invitations today and finished up the pocket folders over the long weekend, so all there is to do now is print them up and get them ready to mail! And my third bridesmaid found a dress! Hooray! She is having it custom made by an Etsy seller and is paying a little more for it, but she is super excited about it so that makes me happy. :) My girls keep telling me how awesome and practical and rational I am, those are the kinds of things I like to hear! She is getting this dress (pictured in green here) in black: http://www.etsy.com/listing/57508352/plus-sized-infinity-convertible-wrap Still a little irritated about the rehearsal dinner but I suppose I'll get over that in time... Heading into the double digits...here's to smooth sailing ahead :) |

Ask a Question
who should be invited to the rehearsal dinner?!
My mother and I are currently at odds about this. She wants to invite all of our out-of-town extended family to the rehearsal dinner. I know that some people do this but in our case everyone is from out of town so basically half the wedding guests are going to be at the rehearsal dinner!
I don't see the reason to do this if we are also having a wedding with most of the same people the next day! Also, I told my mom that I don't want to have to meet-and-greet with TONS of family the night before my wedding when I will absolutely be a nervous alpha wreck. I feel like it should be the bridal party, my parents, and FH's parents only...and that I would be happy to meet and greet with everyone at a brunch the day after the wedding. But she insisted and really, she has been very minimally intrusive in the entire planning process. So I let her have her way, with the stipulation that I don't want to have to do anything to plan it or pay for it. It's her baby. What do you guys think? Am I being way too uptight or am I justified in my annoyance? What are you doing for yours? |

Ask a Question
Bridesmaids: 2 out of 3 dresses down! As for the third...
Went shopping at David's Bridal with my awesome bridesteam this past week and two of my bridesmaids are signed, sealed, and soon to be delivered. :) My taller, straight-figured bridesmaid is wearing the dress on the left and my shorter, curvier bridesmaid is wearing the dress on the right. They both looked great - I'm excited! Plus, since there is such a height difference, the dresses turned out to be almost the exact same length when all was said and done!
My third bridesmaid is a slightly tougher sell - she is a size 28-30 and is having a tough time finding a dress that fits. She is larger on the bottom than the top which is complicating matters. Here is where I am calling out to the collective knowledge of the WBC: Do any of you guys have a good source for plus-size formal dresses that won't break the bank? We are obviously not being super matchy-matchy with the dresses as you can see...I would love to help her find something! Please help if you can! |

invite prototype!
What do y'all think? Haven't started on the inside yet...but those won't be terribly ornate! I don't think it looks too shabby for the first papercraft project I've done since grade school!

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
my jewelry is here!
I know I have posted about my necklace before but it was so gorgeous when I put it on (and my mom demanded pics so I took some LOL) that I had to share. Can't WAIT to wear it on my wedding day...and after! It's much more sparkly in person when the crystals and rhinestones catch the light :D
The necklace is from Etsy...totally recommended seller! http://www.etsy.com/shop/terihuang And it matches the pearl bracelets my mom bought for me so well :D Happiness! :D |

xyron, I could kiss you!
Dear Xyron,
Thanks for being 40% off at Jo-Ann and solving my problems with vellum in seconds. A little bit of silver paint marker was the icing on the cake. You look marvelous, my dears! Invitations, full speed ahead! |

got the vellum blues :(
Being an amateur papercrafter I knew I would run into some kind of huge snag eventually. I have an image stamped on vellum that I was trying to stick on to a colored cardstock backer...and the "invisible" adhesive shows right through, even though it's supposed to be made especially for use with vellum!
ARGH! I have a really good coupon for Michaels that's good starting tomorrow plus a $25 giftcard...do any of you ladies have a good solution for me? I've read that a Xyron machine might be the right solution - does anyone have experience with these they can share? Thanks in advance! |
