Any hot pink, fuschia and black Brides out there?
Hey ladies!!! Are there any brides out there needing any black or fuschia items? I have some from my wedding, but don't want to take the time and post everything if there is no interest, and I haven't seen alot with that color scheme lately.
But if there is any interest, I will post the stuff, no obligation to buy anything, just that WBC can be crazy about posting pics, so let me know!! I have alot of pew bows, pink votive candles, wishing tree tags, baskets, chair sashes, table runners, etc. Thank you!!! |

We bought a house!!!!
Ok, so it says Wedding Planner in the Subject because WBC wouldn't let me put anything else....weird.
But, I have the best news,.....we bought a house!!!! We had started looking awhile back, but decided not to get TOO serious until after the wedding. We both had "demands" for the house, so it really limited our search, lol. But hey, when you're spending that much money, you need to get what you want!! We had looked at quite a few houses, and then we looked at this one. We both loved it so much, I even pictured little kids running around, lol. That was on Friday. On Monday we had my Mom go with us, and she loved it too. We told the realtor we were VERY interested and he said he would call the selling realtor and we could probably get the ball going the following week. Only half an hour later, he called with the answers to a few questions we had and told us that another couple was making an offer. WHAT!!!!! At this point we had decided it was our house, so the thought of someone else buying it about killed us. So we sat down and talked, and put our offer in. That night was awful waiting. But at 8:00AM our agent called to tell us they accepted it!! We got it for $5000 less than asking price, and I guess our offer was $2000 less than what their lowest point was, but the lady said when we came out Friday and she was leaving, that I talked to her and was really nice, and since we were a young couple starting out, that the money meant more to us than to them. Isn't that just amazing???? Gotta love small towns. :) So about the house. It is on 2.5 acres with mostly yard, but some timber/woods. It's 3 bedroom, with a MIL/bonus room above the garage, so could be 4. 2.5 baths, huge front porch, parlor. It also has built in bookcases(huge to me) and pocket doors. Biggie for me was porch and Philly wanted 2.5 car garage. We both got our wishes. And we wanted in the country, it def is!! It's in the outskirts of the town my Mom and two siblings live, so I will be close to them. We close in 45 days, we are beyond excited. Just goes to prove that when you know, you know. I've posted a few pics, just wanted to share with you all. Hope your planning is going well!! OH, for my facebook buddies, we haven't posted it yet on there, only family and now you girls know for now!!!! You'll see when the cats out of the bag. :) |

Phillysgirl5's Wedding Details.
Hi Ladies!!! So I finally have a few minutes to tell you about my day!! We got so lucky, the weather was great. It had been crazy hot, and predicting rain, but it was a beutiful day, and just as the ceremony got done, there were a few raindrops, I feel like that was my Dad saying hi, :)
We decorated the reception site the night before the wedding, after the rehearsal lunch. Our friends and family helped out sooo much! My little sister and I stayed at the hotel the reception was at, and our hairdresser came to us. As we checked out and left, to head to the ceremony site, I realized I didn't have my veil....eek!! So we mad rushed back and they got us back into the room. White veil on white sheets, disappears, lol. We had to do a few decorations at the ceremony site, but nothing major. Philly and his best man had gone out early in the morning and set most of the stuff up with my Mom. Although, the photographer got there and I hadn't even done my make up!!!! So it was rushed again, lol. But it all worked out in the end, so all is well that ends well. :) As you can see from the picture, I walked down stairs to get to the stage for the ceremony. One thing I was NOT prepared for was to see Philly crying. He NEVER cries. It was sooooo sweet, but I remember being in shock, and whispering to my brother "He's crying, what do I do?" LOL. Have no idea why I asked that. When the minister asked who is giving the bride in marriage, my brother responded with "In memory of her Father, I do." Literally, not a dry eye in the house!!! It was very sweet and unexpected, since during rehearsal, he said "I do, I'm tired of paying her chow bill." Lol, he's a goof. The ceremony was beautiful, everything I imagined. The only thing that made me mad the entire day was we were supposed to have a black stretch limousine. We got a white stretch excursion. I specifically asked for black, I DO NOT like white limos. I'll be straightening that out tomorrow. Ugh!!! But, can't change it, so we made do. The reception site was BEAUTIFUL all lit up. It really is an inspiring moment to see all your visions and hard work put together! My sisters speech made everyone cry, and best man speech made everyone laugh, so it equaled out!!!! The photo booth was a HUGE hit, and it got funnier and funnier as the drinks continued to flow, lol. Everyone loved it and has talked about it since. We just had a backdrop with the Beth Loves Philly banner from my bridal shower, and a ton of props. Great times and great memories!!! Of course there are things I would change, but they def didn't make or break the day! But I will share them in case they help any of you at all. Everyone had warned me about the candy bar going fast, so we kept it covered until after the dances and dinner. We have SO MUCH candy left over!!!!! I would open the candy buffet long before we did. Granted, it was HUGE, but still. I wouldn't change the size of it, I loved it!! I also would have put the late night snack of popcorn out earlier. People loved it, but by the time we did, some people had already left, and they could have enjoyed it also. Make sure you have someone to dismiss your guests at the ceremony! OOPS!!!! The groomsmen were supposed to go down and dismiss everyone and forgot!! We had planned a receiving line at the back, but still need someone to dismiss them!!! We chose not to see each other before the wedding. It was very important to us, so we chose my sister in law to be the one in charge of that not happening, she did an amazing job! We did all the girls and all the guys pics before the ceremony to help on time. It really worked. Speaking of pictures, make sure you have a list of MUST HAVE photos. I did, and gave them to my photographer, but things got so hectic after the ceremony that I feel like some of them got missed. Even assign someone to go down the list! I am sure there are things I am forgetting, but most of all, it goes by so fast, ENJOY IT!!!! At first I ran through my head what I could have and should have done different, but at the end of the day, I married Philly and that's all I really wanted. And everyone had a blast. That's what matters!!! Oh, the taco bar was a HUGE hit!!! Everyone loved it and I have gotten so many compliments about going outside of the norm. So many people told me they actually ate, when most weddings they don't, so I was happy about that!!!! As you can tell from my previous pics, everything turned out wonderfully, and I couldn't be happier to finally be MRS. SOHN!!! Thank you for all of your support, love you all!! PS, I don't know why some pics won't load!!! |

A few of my favorite things..
I have a quick moment, and wanted to share with you all a few of my favorite gifts we received for the wedding, including Philly and I's gifts for each other.
The first picture is the framed picture my best friend, Leah made for us. It is the words to our first dance song!!! It says Jason and Beth at the bottom in the hearts, I couldn't seem to get a good picture of it, but she did an AMAZING job,I love it so much! The second one is a picture frame that Phillys sister made for us, and sent our invitation in it. She said she did that so she wasn't giving us an empty frame, but I really love the invite in it, so we shall see. :) The third is the frame I had made for Philly. He is really into medieval times, so I had my familys coat of arms and his familys coat of arms and our family histories with our wedding date. He loved it!! Fourth is the bracelet he got me. I bawled like a baby, and of course can't get a picture that does it justice to show you all!! It is a silver bracelet with the verse that was read at our wedding, Corithians 13, love is patient, love is kind. It has the ENTIRE verse on it, written on the outside and inside of the bracelet. He did good, huh?? The fifth is the other gift from Philly. It is a willow tree carving of the couple dancing, and he had our names and wedding date painted on it, LOVE!! I collect them, so it made the perfect addition. :) The sixth, seventh and eighth pics are so special to me. From the time we got engaged, my niece started working on this. The envelope that says SAVED FOR AUNT BETHS SPECIAL DAY sat in her window in her room for the past year. I finally got to open it and it was a handmade card, and she wrapped my favorite lotion up in it. It was so sweet, and she is the most special little girl in the world to me. I will keep this FOREVER, especially the envelope. She's the sweetest girl ever. Just wanted to share some of our fave gifts, I will still be posting the details of the day and our rehearsal and honeymoon pics!!! And of course some pro pics when we get them back. Happy Friday, Ladies, and Happy Planning!! |

Phillysgirl is back...a married woman!!!
Hi ladies!!! I missed you all so much!!! I have been so busy since we got back from the honeymoon, but I missed you all SOOOO much, looking forward to catching up this week!!!
I wanted to share some of the non-pro pics that were taken. I would have loaded more, but it takes FOREVER!!!! And for some reason it won't let me load some, but that's ok. Our wedding day was EVERYTHING I had ever dreamt of. The weather was PERFECT, and as soon as the ceremony was over, it started sprinkling, just a few drops, I believe that was my Dad. :) The ceremony and reception were amazing. There were a few hiccups, but that's another post! I just wanted to get some photos to you girls, don't want you to forget me!! HA! Love you all, hope you enjoy the pics!!! xoxo |

DIY Wedding
Last couple projects.
Good afternoon ladies!!! Still can't believe I'm getting married in just a couple days. My plan to get everything done early and be stress free as gone pretty well. Besides the few things that you literally HAVE to wait until the last minute to do. Philly picked our rings up today, so even though I'm not wearing it, I know it is safe and sound, lol.
Here's a couple pictures of my last minute projects. The picture board I just kind of threw together, but I like it and it matches my pink, black and polka dot theme. There are some of our engagement pictures and a couple from the day we actually got enaged, coming down from the mountain. :) The second picture are the kids bags for the kids table. Each one has glow sticks, leis, bead necklaces, tattoos, masks, fun erasers, pencils, jumbo money, etc. And then there will also be DIY animal masks for the kids to color and assemble. Should be fun. The last picture is the activity book I put together for the kids. I know I have sent the link to a couple of you brides, I hope you liked it as much as I do. There are puzzles, mazes, coloring pages, etc inside it. It's cute, and was free, plus my boss let me print them at work, so I didn't even have to use ink! :) Today is my last day of work until after the honeymoon, pretty excited about that. I have a few days after we get back before I go back to work, so I will be checking in with you all after that!! :) Not a whole lot going on until Friday, so I'll talk to you all soon!!! |

Wedding Music And Songs
Mother-Daughter Dance
As some of you know, my Dad passed away when I was 14. So I have always known he would not be around to walk me down the aisle, or have the Father-Daughter Dance. I have gone back and forth on this for some time. My brother is giving me away, so I thought about doing a dance with him. But I finally decided I want to do it with my Mom. She raised us by herself, never remarried. She always said she had already had her one true love. She is the most amazing woman I know, and us kids mean the world to her, as she does to us. So I am going to honor my Mom with a Mother-Daughter dance. We will be dancing to "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. I really am everything I am because of her.
I am also doing a special dance with my cousin Timmy. He was my Dads best friend, and he took over the "father role" after my Dad passed. My Dad was a truck driver, and so is Timmy. In fact, my Dad taught him how to drive a rig. Any time one of us is having a bad day, the other will text "Roll On." It's from the Alabama song "Roll On." Funny, it's about three kids from Illinois. There are three of us kids, and we live in Illinois. :) Any time it plays on the radio, we will call the other and hold the phone up, or leave it on a voicemail. So even though it's not exactly a slow song, it is OUR song, so we will be dancing to it. And it's also a tribute to my Father. Anyone else doing any "non-traditional" dances or songs? Happy Planning ![]() |

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
Lost without my ring!
Happy Monday, Ladies!! I hope you all had a great weekend. Saturday was productive for us. We got the rest of our running around done, and all the food for our day after lunch.
We took our rings in. Mine needed re-dipped, cleaned and engraved. His needed engraved. We decided to have mine say Philly and his say Rockstar, our nicknames for each other. :) His was free to engrave because we bought it there. But mine was custom made in Pennsylvania, so we had to pay for mine. But it was only $25.00, so not too bad. :) But it is sooooo weird not having my ring. I feel lost without it. I pick it up Wednesday, but of course won't wear it until Saturday so it doesn't get dirty. Still so weird! I had to put another ring I had on it so it would balance it out a little bit. HAHA. Still considering the soldering, but I will think about that after the honeymoon. 5 more days!!! :) ![]() |

Sooo tired of ironing!!!
Hi ladies!!!! I've been missing in action, my iron has taken me hostage. Ugh, so tired of ironing. So far I have done 24 table runners, 125 chair sashes. 3 table cloths and 15 chair covers. 117 more chair covers to go. I shouldn't complain, Philly has done as much if not more than me. He's been amazing. But I am soooo ready for it to be done!!!! Just had to whine for a little bit. :)
One week from tomorrow, it will all be worth it!! The forecast is showing 96 degrees and sunny. I wish it was going to be a little cooler, but so far, no rain!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for that. I ordered the popcorn for the late night snack today, and am almost done with the kids bags. Besides that, everything is done!!! The rehearsal is next Friday, and we will decorate the reception venue after that, then decorate the ceremony venue early Saturday morning. Finalized all the catering bars. We stuck with the taco bar which includes tacos and all the fixings, chicken enchiladas, beef burritos, mexican salad, spanish rice, refried beans, chips and salsa and cinnamon crisps. We also added ham, turkey and chicken salad sandwiches and chips. Then there will be fruit and cheese and crackers available all night. We finalized all the soda and beer. So relieved after we did all that. :) Family will start arriving Tuesday, so exciting!!! Philly and I are having a "date day" tomorrow, just the two of us all day, as things will start getting crazy next week, so we wanted to have time for just the two of us. I hope all of your planning is going well!!! ![]() |
