Ask a Question
How do I get wrinkles out???

Hi ladies!!! I'm hoping someone can help me with this. Our chair covers I am borrowing from a friend, and most of hers didn't even come out of the package, so they have the lines and wrinkles from shipping. And the ones she used, need washed. They are polyester, so I'm not sure what the best way to do this is? Can I wash and iron them or do I need to take them somewhere to be pressed?

Also I am going to be ordering the satin sashes and am thinking I will have the same issues and questions with those. Have any of you dealt with this before? What did you do??

Thank you in advance for any help you girls can give me!!!!

Happy Planning!!!!

You should google that one before you iron. But I think you can iron them, I don't know if steam will also work.
Same with the satin sashes (I'm using tulle, it's cheaper =)

Well I am in the process of doing the same thing and what I did was buy one of those big clothes drying racks. I washed all the chair covers on the delicate cycle, and then hung them to dry. The person i got mine from said you can put them in the dryer for a few minutes before you go to use them to get last minute wrinkles out, but don't leave them in there too long. I would suggest NOT ironing them...

oh and if you wash them make sure you use a detergent made for delicates like woollite or Ivory for delicates

Yes after I wash them and hang them it takes them out, however my chair covers are silk. If hanging them doesn't work to get out all wrinkles I would put them in the dryer first fro a few minutes then hang them :)

Glad I could help!!
Good luck!!!

I'd probably say a steamer or maybe dry clean? that could be costly though.....

You should be able to iron them on a low setting with no steam and I would iron the satin ones with something over them like a cotton sheet and a slightly higher heat to protect the silk.  Good luck!!

Thanks, girls!!! I figure I'll give it a try with one, and see how it goes. That way if it doesn't work out so well, I'm only out the one. I could have them dry cleaned, but want to use that as a last resort because of the expense. Thank you all for your advice!!!!! :)

I purchased mine online and they came covered in wrinkles. All I did was put 10 at a time in the dryer on medium heat until the wrinkles came out. They turned out great!! After dryng I hung them on clothes hangers with plastic clips I bought out walmart that clipped to the clothes hangers. Goodluck!

The satin sashes, I had as well. Medium heat worked for me with an iron, no steam. And u really only need to iron where the creases are.
