Wanted to post the other things we finished this weekend. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted a wishing tree. I even made the tags right after we got engaged, lol. I just cut them out of scrapbook cardstock and tied ribbon to them and stamped cute sayings on them, We got black and silver sharpies for our guests to write on them,
Philly and I had been meaning to go out in the timber looking for branches, but just didn't seem to have the time. We finally got a day off together and the weather was so nice we decided to go on a walk. We always take the same path when we walk and as we were heading home, Philly looked over and saw that a huge branch had fallen out of a tree, It was PERFECT for our wishing tree, we didn't even have to use several branches, just one!!!!
I used the same glitter paint that I used on the card box, and painted the tree, then used plaster of paris to hold it into the flower pot, covered that with spanish moss and daisies.
I had gotten the hanging gems at Christmas when they were half off, and hung them on the branches. And then of course the sign to go with it that explains what to do.
We are going to try to put pink or white lights on it, but we're not sure if it will look good or make it tacky. We're going to test it this weekend.
This was another fun DIY. Pretty sure this and the candy buffet are my favorite so far. :)
Happy Planning, ladies!!!
