Ask a Question - Mom's in Pink & Blue anyone? - PINKBRIDE09's Pink Wedding by Color Blog

Okay I have a question about the mothers of the bride and groom's attire for the wedding. Both mothers and grandmothers are saying that the mother of the bride is suppose to wear pink and the mother of the groom is suppose to wear blue to go according with thier childs gender. Is anyone else going by this tradition? I thought it was too "old school" for me but I keep more and more ppl saying this...???

I've been in two weddings so far: in one the MOB wore lilac and the MOG wore black (I think - I remember it was a neutral color - but it was also about 3 years ago).

In the second wedding I was in the MOB wore a deep purple and the MOG wore a deep blue (but not navy).

In my wedding I'm planning on having them both in different shades of blue (unless they object).

I've never heard this before! My FMIL bought a very pretty black and white dress, and I love it!

Never heard this before in my life. As far as I heard from tradition it was lemon that the mother wore.

I've never heard of it before. I heard one MOG say that she was supposed to wear beige.

My own FMIL asked around, and found out from her friends that she wasn't supposed to wear black, white, the BM dress colour, or the MOB dress colour.

I, however, am probably going to put them both in either brown or gold. I'll let them choose the shades they want to wear, but they'll both quasi-match. They will also go with the theme of the wedding, but won't be in one of the major colours.

ive never heard of this before. I was actually told the MIL is supposd to wear the color of the guys suits. well the inside vest or cumberbun whatever.
and the mother of the bride will wear the other color. idk i could b wrong too lmao.

I have never heard this before either. I know my grandmother wore yellow to my moms wedding.....and will to mine.
