Ask a Question
How many of you watch Bridezillas???
I occasionally watch the show bridezillas, and was wondering how many of you watch it also? I thought I was being a bridezilla on my wedding day but everytime I watch that show it makes me realize I was being nice compared to some of them!!!!! Have you had a bridezilla moment yet??

Ask a Question
Are you staying in a hotel room the night after wedding????
If not I highly recommend you do so!!! We had a limo take us to the Benson in downtown Portland. They knew we had just gotten married and there were rose petals leading from the door to the bed, and all over the bed. They also had chocolate covered strawberries, which I love!!, and champagne. Even being exhausted from all the festivities we stayed up until about 2am just talking about the wedding and finally enjoying being husband and wife alone. I am so glad we did this. You will want the time together. Also ladies I know how tired you will be but put the lingerie on!!!!!! Don't let being tired stop you. Your new hubby will enjoy this very much, and if I can do it being 7 months preggo you all can too!!!!!!

Wedding registry
wedding registry advice
Since the wedding we have been receiving tons of gifts shipped from macy's. We decided to register at macy's, bed bath and beyond, and target. My advice is to register at one or maybe two places. Another thing I wish I hadn't done was register for the same things at each place, which they tell you to do. For example, at macy's we registered for everything from kitchen stuff to bath and bed. We also did this at bed, bath and beyond. Well now we have some of the same things, like griddles, cups, plates, blenders, etc. It just makes it a hassle to have to return stuff. I would recommend finding one location that has everyhting you want or maybe two and registering for bed and bath/ decor at one place and maybe kitchen stuff at another place. Honestly all the stuff we got, which is a lot, is all kitchen stuff. No joke!! No towels, or bath/bed things. No picture frames or anything like that. We did register for that stuff. Anyways good luck to all!!!

Makeup on the day of the wedding
a couple questions answered
To answer a couple questions. I Planned and did everything for my wedding without the help of a planner. It was pretty much just me and my mother and mother in law. As far as makeup I used to work a s a makeup artist and am lucky enough to have close friends who work in that industry. A close friend of mine did my girls and my hair and makeup. She was supposed to start at 11 on the wedding day but was an hour late. There were 4 of us to do total and she did all of our hair and my makeup by 3:15. We had to leave to be at the venue by 3:45. She then finished everyones makeup and touched me up. Just give plenty of time. Our pics were supposed to start at 4 and we didn't start them till around 5, 5:15. We did not use airbrush. I was interested in this and almost ordered it to use but decided not to. I think using regular makeup can look just as good. I would recommend using a foundation primer after moisturizing and before putting on any makeup. My favorite is benefit "that Gal", also nars and smashbox make really good ones. These allow foundation and all your other makeup to go on perfect and look the best it can. We used stila foundation, mac products, benefit products, and diorshow waterproof mascara. All this can be found at nordstrom or sephora. Honestly you can find some good makeup artists in your area on myspace or craigslist. This might sound strange but a lot of them are really talented and usually cheaper. They might even do it for free to use in their portfolio. Also hair takes time. My hair is thick and long and my style for the day was really simple yet it still took over an hour to do. Keep that in mind. We didn't do any trial runs but I would recommend it. Mineral makeup can also be great if it is applied correctly. If not done right it looks cakey and almost can have a grey cast to the face.

Introducing Mrs. Biklen
About my wedding!!!
Well ladies I will post more and pictures when I get them. First off I had an amazing wedding!! Nothing major went wrong, thank goodness!!!! Little things here and there weren't perfect but that's ok. My major thing was my napkins were supposed to be Bright apple green and they looked more light green melon color. Other than that it was beautiful. People loved the card box and actually used it!! I was afraid people might not know what it was exactly. Also the candy buffet was a HUGE hit!!!! People loved it and we only had a little candy left over. I can't wait to see the photos!! When everyone tells you it goes by so fast and to take a moment to step back and take it all in, do it!! Actually it goes by so fast and there are soo many people there you don't get to enjoy it like you think you will. I enjoyed my ceremony the most. One because it was my hubby and me together and I felt like it was just us two in the room. Once the reception begins know that after you eat you will barely see your new hubby! I didn't expect this and maybe it's cause we had 150+ guests but it was craziness. I got pulled away left and right to talk, or take pics, or whatever it may be. I was exhausted by 10. I wanted to dance more and just hang out but that's not how it goes so beware!!!! I think weddings are more fun when your a guest and not the one actually getting married!! Don't get me wrong I loved it but after months and months of planning and stressing for that couple hours seems crazy!! If I had to plan it all again I would have a small intimate wedding. Also of your planning on wearing your dress all night know that it is sooo uncomfortable!! Maybe also being 7 months pregnant made me uncomfortable but the dress was so dang heavy and hot!!! You also need help going to the bathroom so beware of that!! If anyone has questions feel free to ask!! I feel a little sad that it's all over and I will never have that BIG day again. The day after the wedding we came home to relax before opening gifts at the parents and I found myself getting on wbc!! My husband laughed cause he thinks I'm addicted to this site!! Ladies give yourself lots of time for hair and makeup, don't stress over the small stuff. I am very thankful the weather was amazing!! I live in the pacific northwest, which is usually all rain during this time of the year, but sat. was sunny and beautiful!!! Take time to enjoy each other at the wedding. We didn't even have any cake or champagne from our toast.
