House broken into - NWR - PINKBRIDE2116's Pink Wedding by Color Blog

This is nwr but I need to vent once again. We recently moved a month ago into one of the best neighborhoods in our town. Tree lined streets, picture perfect neighborhood. We moved from a not so great area that I was afraid to live in. Moving here I naturally thought we had nothing to worry about. Friday after getting off work I came home to see our back door window broken out and the back door inlocked. I freaked out. I grabbed my dog and purse and ran out the front door and got in my car. I called 911 and they said they would send someone out, and not to go into the house because someone might still be in there. It took the police and hour..YES and hour to get there. I was shocked! So these a-holes who broke in took our wii, our brand new xbox 360 that I bought in december for my FH's birthday and they got my brand new camera that I got for christmas. I was so upset that someone could do this. Anyway we got a security system installed and I pray this never happens to us or anyone we know again. Keep us in your prayers and thoughts!! This was so scary!! At least they didn't take anything wedding related!

OMG. I'm so sorry to hear this especially since you recently moved to a better neighborhood. I can't believe it took the cops 1 hour to get there. That's just appauling.

I am so sorry that this happened to you.. I can't even believe that. I'm really sorry for your losses of your possessions but I am so glad that no one got hurt and that your dog was ok, he/she must have been so scared! I'm glad that you have a security alarm now.

im soo sorry to hear that .. My FH and i just moved to and the first thing i made him get was an alarm. but we go the alarm that if the glass breaks not the motion sensor cause we have an 80 pound dog .. so .. Its a good t hing now that you have an alarm system. but they arent going to rob the same place twice ... and its nut s that it took the cops over an hour to get there ... i would talk to the local PD department to explain your situation .. and start crying to them .. that they could have caught these ppl if they could get there butts off the donut shops chair ...

how terrible! I'm so sorry! This happened to my MOH recently. She is also pregnant and they had just moved! I can't even imagine...thank goodness you are okay though!! I'm glad you got that security system installed!

that is horrible. my friend was broken into in a posh neighborhood and the police said to be careful because thieves sometimes hit a house for small stuff and scope out what is there for a second robbery. sure enough, his home was broken into a second time. but he was not diligent and never set the alarm when he went to sleep or out. it is very good you have gotten a security system. it will hopefully make you feel more secure. after my SIL was broken into she got all scared of it happening again. it's hard not to feel that way but it's also hard to live in fear.

But, I think an hour is about what you'd expect for the cops to arrive. I'm fairly certain that they don't come immediately.

I hope you get your stuff back, or that insurance covers it.

OMG what a bad experience, that is so sad. I am glad that everyone is OK. I hope the experience doesn't mark you too much and you are able to gain confidence again.

my brother's apartment was broken into in the middle of the afternoon. they stole their big screen, xbox, xbox games, and other big items. it was difficult for them to feel secure again. to think it happened in daylight is very scary. so, i understand all your concerns and feeling violated. not to mention someone else is enjoying the things that you worked hard for. come to find out they had a cable company out the day before and they made an appointment, but arrived earlier than planned. the cable guy ended up being a felon working for the company. nice, eh?

i hope they find closure to your case & you find some peace of mind & comfort!!

I am so mad for you right now!! I HATE THIEVES!!! An hour????? that really irks me.. you could have been in danger.. they didn't actually think the hoodlums would hang out for an hour did they??
