How long does a wedding ususally last?
Ladies, I'm wanting to know how long a wedding reception usually lasts. Ceremony?
The reason being is that we are trying to book our videographer but need to know how many hours; im trying to go the cheapest route. lol. Does the ceremony usually last about 30-45 mins? The reception 3 or 4 hours? We aren't having a party at all after dinner. It's just going to be dinner, first/last dance, father/daughter dance, mother/daughter dance, mother/son dance, cake cutting, speeches/toasts and departure. Is all that right? I mean, am I missing anything? I'm lost. Help! ...please. |

Breakfast at Tiffany's BM Luncheon
I started working on my diy BM luncheon invites. i know it's a bit too early but i was bored at work. lol.
The theme is Breakfast at Tiffany's and I tried something.. I want you ladies opinion and suggestions. I printed one on cardstock and showed my coworker; she said it ws fine the way it is....what do you ladies think? Honest opinion. It's just a sample. :) BTW: The location is just a sample; not correct location and address. (Is that even how the location is spelled?) |

My MOH, BM's and I went to Michael's for envelopes for the Save the Dates and I found this great little thing and going to use it as a pen holder. It was only $1!

They actually arrived last Wednesday but I've been so busy with other things I haven't had time to post them. I ordered them from Vistaprint and only paid shipping (oh, and extra fee for having a back side to the postcards.)

Free Catering!
My aunt and her husband have their own small catering business. They have catered at alot of weddings and sweet fifteens, They're food is very good.
Anyway, she asked me if I wanted to use them for our catering. I told her that I didnt want them working on our wedding cause I wanted them to enjoy being around us and family. She told me that they will just make it and we just had to hire waiters to serve. I was okay with that and then asked her how much she'll charge me and she said....?NOTHING!!! OMG!! She just told me to let her know the date, what type of food I wanted and how many people. I thanked her soo much! Mainly thanked God cause only through him, things are possible!! We are having salad first and Chicken Alfredo with Garlic bread for dinner! Im so happy! :) |

Wedding Budget
Padrinos...Blessed! :)
Ladies, let me start off by stating that my husband and I are Christian. We have faith in God and give all glory and praise to him cause he deserves it!
We had been changing wedding dates due to financial reasons. Until one day at church service the brother that was preaching told us to go to the altar and told us that God had a special plan for us and that he knows that we had been pulling off the wedding but that it was time to tell the enemy, NO MORE!! That he (God) is wanting to bless our marriage and that the enemy will not stall it any longer, cause it is God's plan. Then, we decided that April 16th, 2011 is the date and no more changing will be done!! We have full faith and trust in the Lord that he is going to make this wedding possible cause it is his will. Well, it is Mexican tradition to ask family members to be sponsors (aka Padrinos) of the wedding. My husband and I werent planning on asking cause we are both shy and dont like to ask for anything. After talking to our parents, they asked us to do so because our families like to help... but we just dont like to ask for it. lol. Anyway, we have gotten a few "Padrinos" which is great and we are grateful for their help. One of my aunts called me last night and asked if I had stopped by her house the day before, which I had. I then asked her if she wanted to be a "Madrina" of my wedding. She said, of course and asked what I needed. I then explained to her that we had all the small stuff already and were needing donations to pay for reception venue, photography, etc. She then stated that it was fine and that she will help me with......$1,000!! I was in total shock and couldnt believe it. She stated that if she could do more, she would but for sure, $1,000! I was so happy and thanked her sooooo much! After hanging up with her, I got up and thanked God sooo much for every blessing.!! ***it is alot for us cause we are on a budget*** |

Wedding Reception
Booked Venue!!
Today, we gave the deposit for our reception venue, Victor's Event Room. My mom and mother-in-law joined us so they can see it. They both said that it was veryyy nicce but also thought it was small.... which kinda bummed me.
We are inviting 180 guests, but maybe only 160 will show (who knows). We arent having any children at our reception other than my son, little brothers and flower girl, so I dont think it'll turn out less than great! Now that the deposit has been made, I kinda feel in FULL planning mode..lol. They provide, tables, chairs, set-up, clean-up, bartenders, linens and you can use their centerpieces, which I am. They provide glass drinking glasses since you aren't permited to bring/use water bottles or can drinks. I love the romantic and elegant feel that the venue provides. Since the reception is going to be at night, it'll be dark and the dim lighting and floating candle centerpieces will look great! |
