This is pinkstarburst805's Chocolate Wedding!

So I haven't wrote in a little bit but that doesn't mean I still haven't been thinking!!! This week has just been crazy and all of my attention has been on work and paying the bills... my FH work has been so unsteady that we have gotten so far behind but I think we're finally getting caught up this week...yay only to find out that he doesn't have any work afterwards for awhile....

I beginning to think we might have to push back the wedding because we are trying to do it on a small small budget already but the way things are going we might not even have enough money for the budget....

life hurts sometimes

ok so I really want to do the traditional first dance but I know at many weddings ive been to it gets a little boring watching the long father/ daughter dance then the first dance...I DEFINATLEY want to at least dance a little to a slow song (Kenny Chesney- You Save me) but I don't want my guests to get antsy watching us slow dance?

What are you guys doing? Anyone doing anything different or just traditional?

Also how could I incorporate both; do something traditional but maybe spice it up a bit?

Hey everyone! My name is Ivy and I have been engaged now for about 2 weeks. I never realized how much goes into a wedding... I have so many thoguhts and ideas so I thought I would start this blog to help me out!

First things first...money duh =)

weddings are expensive!!!!

this is why we are choosing to have our wedding a year and a half away, so we can save some money...but right now money is tight!

I have my AA in elementary education but am a bartender right now I plan on taking classes again but once again that needs more money lol

jansen does construction(temporarily) and is pursuing becoming a firfighter yay!!! He joins the academy in March so after he does that Im gonna kick back and just concentrate on school

So heres our timeline...

March through June 2009 Jansen will be in the fire academy

we'll get married in October of 2009 then Ill go back to school and work on making a baby=)

that way jansen will be making some money and we'll have some benefits so I won't have to work and can work on finishing school. I have two years left and then I will be teaching and he'll be firefighting!!!!

I would go back to school now but I am 23 and we arent married and have no kids so financial aid uses my parents income, and they make to much money=(

so for now while he's in the academy and stuff im going to spend my time and efforts planning this wedding...

I know that typical weddings are alot more than my budget but I am hoping and praying on staying under 4000; that might not be possible but I am trying!!!

Our goal is to save at least $10 a day and hopefully when the bills are all caught up and his work is a little more steady we can save a little more than that...

Right now we are planning for an october wedding because...
1. Its a year and a half away which gives us time to save!
2. we live in florida and its not too hot or cold then
3. we want an outside reception

So at first I wanted a classic black and white contemporary wedding but then when I thought about the wedding tim and place I have started to reconsider...

we have found a local state park that offers reasonable prices on an outdoor pavilion, equipped with electricity bathrooms a cooking area and everything... The area is brown and wooden with tons of green trees all around and the beach behind it, it offers pathways out the beach as well...its so beautiful!!! So now I am thinking of elegant browns and gold maybe with a touch of lime green (for flowers and such)...

what do yall think?

I need tons of advice and help! I feel like I dont have very many people to help me with this planning I mean I have my mom and his and my best friend but everyone has thier own life as well you know!
