This is pinkylv's Blue Wedding!

After seeing kellydave4ever's post of her shoes, I've decided to skip the gold or ivory for that matter and wear these beauties! I got them off of eBay a over a year ago for cheap and haven't worn them since. I thought they would match a dress I had, but it didn't.
The ironic thing is, I wore these when I tried on my dress for the first time. Funny how everything comes full circle!

I'm sooo loving this idea!

So I'm a MAC girl, and I normally get my make-up done at the counter for any special occasions, but this time I'm going to ask my MAC artist to come to my house to do our make-up. I'm gonna go in for a free consult probably in June or July.

I'm gonna pay for my girls to have their makeup done...My mom too if she wants. What are you doing?

This is the best pic I could find of the dress, just picture it in Blue (Midnight Blue). All of the girls love the dress, and it's so versatile...It could be worn again and again. I'm trying to convince my 17 year old niece to use it for her prom...which is next year.

As for accessories, I’m thinking of getting each of them an initial necklace to wear. Bouquet wise, they will have a bright pink flowers…haven’t decided which ones yet, most likely hydrangeas.

I love these shoes! I picked them up on eBay for a wicked steal! I was gonna wear them for the rehearsal dinner, but I'm liking them for the big day. They are from The House of Dereon, Beyonce's line.

I originally wanted to do silver, but my bridesmaids are doing silver, and I wanna be distinct :) Plus my dress is ivory, and I think the gold looks better.

OK, so I managed to photochop a pic of my veil. I don't want show a pic of my dress just yet, but studious Pronovias brides could probably figure it out ;)

Sooo, after following up with my jeweler, I still don't have my ring! The sales associate I was dealing with was totally incompetent! My main problem with this blasted ring was that it wasn't a size 6. There were several other problems, but I don't want to get into that cuz I'm just fuming!

After I got my ring, I called to let them know that I will be returning it to be recast after my engagement party, they said "Oh that's fine, we want to make sure you are totally satisfied with your ring, and your shopping experience at XYZ".

So after talking different lady on the phone (cause my SA wasn't in that day), Nick and I went to the shop a week later to show in person the problems with the setting and the blatant flaw of all, the size. My SA was quick to side with me, saying "oh yes, that is way too big, that is definitely NOT a size 6". We told her we needed the ring for the party and she said it was fine to return it after... and wished us a good time at the party.

So April 19th rolls around and we drop the ring off to be recast. It was like she couldn't get rid of us fast enough, I wanted to see the ring under the scope, but she was pushing us out the door.

Fast forward to today... after leaving a message to have someone call me about the status of my ring (which was due back yesterday), my SA called and left a message at work, saying she needs permission to recast the ring... isn't that what I was waiting 2 weeks for in the first place? I let that go, because she didn't know why they didn't follow the directions either. FINE! I then reminded her to make sure the request states I needed a size 6, as the ring I had initially was way too big.

She tells me that it doesn't state ANYWHERE that I needed a size 6.

NAT: You must have forgotten to write it down.
SA: No I didn't
NAT: Umm, You must have because you even commented a couple of times, on the fact that it was way too big.
SA: I did not say that.
NAT: What are you talking about? Of course you did, Nick was there when we both mentioned it a few times.

After going back and forth, and her cutting me off and being rude she sarcastically says "fine, OK, I forgot!"

With that I said, let me speak to your manager!

So without making a long story longer, I was told by the manager to deal only with him personally. My ring will be ready in 2 weeks. He told me he will sit down with both Nick and myself to see what else he can do make my experience at XYZ Company a memorable one. I told him he was gone for 4 months, but I will bring another witness... my moms.

The SA offered to get a rush job on this, and I was like, oh hells no, not after the shotty job y'all did the first time (only, I was a bit more polite). The manager offer a rush job as well, but I said take your time.

I'll post an update in a couple weeks. I feel no ways on telling people how I feel, I always do it in a professional manner, but this lady was just plain rude. They wine and dine you before you order, but when you pay, your old news. I showed her what's what... Nick would be proud :)

For me it was easy... We chose the the anniversary of or 1st date which was February 21st. We met on February 7th 2005.

I was working part time at Gap Kids in Toronto at the time and we met up after work. We went to see the move "Hitch". Nick thought he was so smooth, he kept on trying to kiss me, but I kept on ducking.

The wedding scene at the end was amazing, I was thinking, I want my recessional for be like that... like a Soul Train dance line... I've always dreamed of doing the same thing, but would never tell a guy that on a first date no less!

One thing he got from the movie is, when we kiss, he always goes 90%, and then says "I want my 10%".

So I had a dental appointment today, and my dress shop is 5 minutes away from it in downtown Toronto...so I dragged my moms with me and she had a blast. I've been going to that dentist since 1982, so she had a chance to catch up with my dentist. And the good news is that I don't have any cavities :D

So the DDS appointment is over and we walk down to the boutique...I tried some veils on, but I wasn't sold. My dress comes with a veil but i didn't like it initially, so I didn't order it way back when, but now I'm wish I did...so now I have to wait londer for the veil to come in...could be anywhere between 2-4 extra months! Why so long? That's Pronovias for ya! Anyways, I cant wait to get it. It's gonna be a double tier veil.

UPDATE: I spoke to Nick yesterday and told him about the veil, and he said "You're gonna look so beautiful!" SIGH, I miss him sooo much, I almost cried when he said that, but I was on the GO Train with my moms and a bunch of strangers, and tried my best to hold back.

He took a leave from work to train for the Navy Reserves. I cried like a baby when I dropped him off at the airport, and he was like "you knew I was leaving" which does sound kinda sounds funny...but I'm a really sensitive person...My family used to call me "cry-cry" as a kid...ya I was spoiled, but I'm the baby of the family.

Anyways, the good news is I'm not spoiled any more, but I still cry watching Oprah, and all those wedding shows especially during the proposal.

I was kind of hesitant cuz I know a few brides are using the damask theme (gratefulbride), but this the colours are spot on and it is so regal! I have to do it, please forgive me Sonya :)

I love Gwen Stefani, and her pompdore hair styles, so that's what Imma go with for the big day. Make up by MAC. I want a cross between the Yessina and Christine look.

I haven't chosen a veil just yet...I'm waiting for the dress to come in.

I love these flowers, so since I'm going with Blue and Fuchsia, I think the pink Peonies will work out best. We have to meet up with the planner to figure out the whole decor... and now that we have confirmed the ceremony location, we can begin looking at design ideas for the church.

We're getting married in my childhood church, Malvern Christian Assembly in Scarborough. I can't wait! I know what you GTA Brides may be thinking... but Malvern is still a very safe an thriving community... It's where I grew up, I still love it :)

And on that note we're done! Done all the planning... I just have to decide on the final invites, so I lied, there's still a teeny bit to do.

I've seen some beautiful dresses on this site... But I'm too superstitious to post a pic of mine. All I will say it's from Pronovias and I should get it in about 4 to 6 months.
I ordered it on Jan 30 and can't wait to try it on again. My problem now are the shoes. I don't want to spend a whole leap of money, because odds are, I'm not gonna wear 'em again. So I've decided to go the eBay route.

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm serious about my cake... I even have a Facebook album dedicated to it! We have decided to go with a 4 tier cupcake tower, with a cake on the 5th tier. We're getting the cupcakes done by a local bakery called and the top tier will be done by my sister's friend. A family friend is going to make the traditional black cake as well, so we can satisfy the parents.

It's coming up... so far we have all the major stuff purchased. The parents have to figure out how they are going to fit 70+ people in their house. I hope the weather cooperates.

My colours for the time being will be different shades of blue, so naturally I want to fix up the place nice with blue everything. Should I go with streamers & balloons? Any more ideas out there?

Bear with me, I'm having problems with this blog... I saved this post 3 times and it disappeared!

Anyways, this is the hall where we are having our reception. My company has had their Holiday/Christmas party for the longest time, and the food and service is amazing.

So ya, I'm at a loss at what colour combination to use. But I really like the colours used in the Sick Kids logo to the left.

I'm not really sure what the lighter blue is called, but it looks great with the darker blue.

My bridesmaids dresses are navy, so the fuchsia will be an accent colour for the flower girls dresses... Their dresses will be ivory with a fuschia sash.

Hey all... I've got sites everywhere, but I happened upon this one and found a lot of good ideas... so I say to myself, self, why not start up another?

We just received our monogram seal... I got the idea from the Martha Stewart Spring 07 magazine... and the good thing is the vendor, Wax-Works, is located in Ontario which is a huge bonus for me.

I'm having a hard time deciding on colours though. I was all set with Kelly green and Tiffany blue, but that seems played out (no offense to the Tiffany girls out there!).

Some may think I should go with Pink, with a name like Pinky... that is just a pet name the parents gave me growing up. My favourite colour is blue, as is Nicks. So that was a no brainer, but I'm liking the magenta and sapphire blue mix. We'll see!
