Just Dance!
We went with "Overjoyed" by Stevie Wonder for everybody... My dad and I ultimately danced through the whole song, but Nick and his mom joined in at the second verse, and then the wedding party joined in during the last chorus.

Then our DJ called on all of the couple in attendance to join in to "Because You Love Me" by Celine Dion... his choice not mine. But it worked well, because it got eveyone onto the dance floor.

And then we mixed it up and played "Ayer" by Flo-Rida to get everyone bumping! It was a surprise to our guests to say the least!

This series of photos were the highlight of the night... Bonnie and I kept on going in the same directions, I though we were going to bump heads. The looks on Carlos, Christian and Mervin's face are PRICELESS!

Nicole getting her groove on!

Brandi and Maddy

Steph showing what he's got! Like father, like son...

Doing the "Slide"... and Wedding Reception standard.

That was pretty much how the rest of the night went. Overall I was happy with all of the music played that night, with exception to Y.M.C.A, but that was kinda my fault cuz I didn't include it in our "do not play list".

So that was our wedding... no we didn't do the bouquet or garter toss ( I wanted to keep my bouquet), and we didn't have a grand exit... (although our exit song was "Keep it Real" by Jon B). The weather didn't really co-operate and some people left early.

Our Same Day Edit was shown at around 10:45pm but our photographer left around 10:30... which was cool cuz we already had her working overtime, which we had planned. But as you could expect, everybody was blown away from the SDE. It started out with a slide show showing pics of us growing up and then together... and then went right into our SDE.

We're in the home stretch now... just the details and the honeymoon in Cancún!

Our Toasts: Here! Here!
After the first dance and quick intros, dinner started. We didn't want everyone and their mother making speeches so we just designated a few key people to do the honors.

First up were the Best Man Aaron, and MOH Brandi.

Brandi's speech was just amazing, I really have no words. I sobbed through the whole thing. She sent me a copy of here speech, but I have yet to read it, it was just too good. Thank you so much Brandi, for standing up for me... Love you lots!

The parents were up next, and my dad made a touching speech about us and our two families. He's a silent guy and not much for words, so his speech really meant a lot.

My mom's speech got me whaling again too! She called me her mentor! I'm so proud of her and forever grateful for all she did leading up to our wedding. She persevered through it all, even through a painful sinus infection. Love you lots ma!

My Uncle Brown also had a few words for us...

Nick's Parents were supposed to do their speech right after my parents, but my brother Ben had his own agenda and proceeded to have my Uncle Brown do his speech.

So after countless attempts to have him stick to the agreed upon time line, he called up Nick's parents to do their speech...

Followed by Nick's Uncle Luch... who is too funny for words.

There were a couple of surprise speakers too! My niece and nephew.

Stephan was first. He's a little star, the parents and I recently attended one of his dance recitals... he specialties in tap, acrobats, jazz and hip-hop. He's the best in his class! We are so proud of him.

I spoke recently about my niece and nephew to Nick's response was "what?" I was like, you know Steph and Sierra..." and his response was, "You mean our niece and nephew, I really like those kids, their good kids". Awwww, Nick your so sweet!

So after Steph, it was time to hear from little Sierra, she's a little show stopper herself, her specialty is acrobats, but who knew this girl could sing? Sierra surprised everyone with her rendition of "A Change Is Gonna Come". Brought me to tears, and a huge round of applause from our guests.

Then Nick and I proceeded with our speeches. Poor Nick forgot everything he was gonna say, and me, I just winged it. I called him my husband for the first time and told everyone about our first date, 4 years to the day, when we saw the movie Hitch. Now look at us now! We're hitched!

We did our raise your glass twisty thing...

... and then cut our cake. I wanted it to go on top of the cupcake stand, but there was this knobby nut bolt on top and the cake wouldn't balance, so we had to have it on the side. Which was OK cuz the cupcake stand was tall. If the cake and our lovebirds topper were place atop, you wouldn't be able to see us.

Here's a close up of out top tier and topper designed by Rain's End.

I just noticed that I had my hankie that Grandma K gave me in every shot! I was a mini life-saver. I would have looked a hot mess without it!

And speaking of Grandma K, My brother made sure to make a special mention during the toasts... she is 90 years young!

My sis got mad props as the creative guru behind our entire wedding suite and anything that had to do with our overall design. She was a godsend, and worked for free! Well not really, but ya :)

That was pretty much it.

After all the formalities, the party really started. Well after the family dances, which is up next!

The Entrance & 1st dance
The wedding party entered the hall to "Magic" by Robin Thicke. It's a very up beat song... all of us was bumping to the beats as our DJ was revving up the crowd.

First up were my mom and dad. My mom made her dress and countless others. And my dad is wearing a tie that Nick got for him and all the men folk. My mom ain't romping eh? Look at her leading my pops in. Every now and then I try to do this with Nick... he only lets me do this in private.

Then came Nick's folks. Again Nick's dad is wearing a special pink tie that worked with our theme.

Then the kiddies. These two were inseparable. My moms made their dresses too!

Little Steph and Chawney... lovely couple :)

Uncle Merv and our Niece Deneeka. She just turned 18 this past April.

Groomsman Mickey and Nicole... who's gonna pop any day now! Congrats Nicole!

Last but not least, Best Man Aaron and MOH Brandi.

Then came our turn! We entered the hall as Mr. and Mrs. D to "More Than Words" by Extreme.

Not only is it a beautiful song, but it was one of the first songs Nick played for me when we started dating.

I thought our DJ was gonna use the video version, but no he played the long @ss version which last 5+ minutes. DOH!
I was in tears at this very moment... it's all real! We're married!

Patrick captured this moment so beautifully in our SDE... I remember it so vividly!
Nick is actually singing to me here!

This is the best shot of the day! Loves it!

Damn, that was a long dance. Looking back at the pics, I could see people getting bored and ish. Oh well, it worked out for us because we got to do a dip right at the end when, it came out perfectly. Yes it was planned, yes we practiced... I wanted to make sure Nick dipped me on my good knee!

I know exactly what I was thinking here "my calves are burning, I need to take a seat! That was a long @ss dance!"

I still tear up when I hear it... and it hurts even more now cuz Nick is away in Victoria for 2 more months :( Miss you much Nikko!

Next up the toasts and more tears from yours truly!

Pics, pics, pics...
OH BTW... I should have mentioned this a while back, if your viewing this in Explorer, the pics may look kinda fuzzy. I'll put a disclaimer at the bottom of each post form now on. You can clink on my Wordpress Blog if you wanna see the pics a little clearer.

So ya, we left off at the wedding party getting in the stretch Nav on our way to the big party! BIL Peter took some quick pics of us all.

Once inside the hall, our DOC Ettie congratulated us and showed us around. I had only thing on my mind... I wanted to see our room!

reorganizing the wish bowl envelopes and note cards.

It was so beautiful inside. But I'm getting ahead of myself, first lemme share with you our group pics! I had to make a mad dash back down stairs to take our group shots. I felt like Cinderella!

I've no idea what Nick is doing here...

Nick hates when I do that!

We were feeling squirrelly, so we decided to take a trip outdoors for some pics.

We were sooo fortunate to get some shots in the snow!

look at my pink shoes... I'm so glad I found them when I did!

Glamour shots!

Now on the wedding party shots. My only regret here is that I didn't get one on one pics with the girls or the fellas. Oh well.

Check me out taking a swig of my alcoholic beverage of choice... rum and coke.

Nick and his fam...

Me and the fam...

...and the wedding crew! I have a big head!

So after mingling, we got the troops together to make our grand entrance.

I can't remember why Maddy was crying here... to the left is our planner Ettie!

loves it!

Here we are jammin' to Robin Thicke's "Magic", the wedding party's entrance song.

Up next... our grand entrance!

So after it all, hung around to chat with our family and friends. A picture says a thousand words.

Nick's Uncle Helmut and SIL Chawney

Here is the lovely mother of my niece Sierra and nephew Stephan.
She's engaged to be married! Congrats Joselle!!!

My Aunt Julie

Nicole, her husband Gordan, me and Nick.

Showing off my slick shoes to my brother and his GF Bonnie (I like to call her Bon Bon) Happy Birthday B! We're now the same age... for another 3 months!

My bro Ben, BIL Peter and handsome groomsman Mickey!

Big 'head Stephan... just kidding.

I love this pick of my moms... she looks so happy! She was so sick that day, I didn't know the extent of it until after the wedding. Thanks ma for putting through with my crap!

The brothers... Ben and Aaron. They were born on the same day August 8th. Go figure.

Nicks Grandma K and Robin. Can you believe she is 90 years young? She is such a sweet and loving lady. She was so excited to see Nick and I get married, but I thinking she was even more excited to meet Father Roy.

Coincidentally, she remembered him from another church. She has a sharp memory y'all, you can't put anything past her.

Ma and her boys

Big brother Merv and I Lovely pic.

An now for the fun and frivolity! Mervin and I always manage to do some ghetto pose. It happens when ever we're in front of a camera together.

Then we got the parents to get group shot with the parents. CLASSIC!

We had more pics than this, but I didn't want to bore y'all.

Group shot with the crew... look at little Steph... trying to stomp with the big boys!

Love this pic! It was quite breezy that day and I though I was going to loose my veil.

Showing off my pink shoes and jacket lining. It really is fuchsia y'all.

Finally departing the Church as wife and husband... I just had to say that... Sorry Nikko.

OK fine, husband and wife!

The brothers.

Mickey, sister Suzette and BIL Peter... I like to call him Popsicle Pete.
I'm sure he hates it, but I don't care. Tee hee!

Damn, seeing these pics again makes me wanna do it all over again... with Nick of course! Next year will be our 5th year anniversary. You heard me right... I'm counting our courtship anniversary's.

Maybe we should do a destination vow renewal with close friends and family.

P.S. We got our Marriage Certificate today after only 5 days! Woot!

Next up, our arrival to the Reception site.

The Ceremony aka BEDMAS*
*Order of Operations

As in solving mathematical equations... It seemed like were taking a quick quiz when we were figuring out who does what and when. I'm still clueless, but now it's all behind us.

But before our grand entrance, I had to pull myself together after my cry fest to meet up with Nikko. I had always imagined walking down the aisle and having my groom see me for the first time, but it doesn't work that way in our church. From what I remember... the priest made his way down first, the the alter kids, then us.

But before I get into those pics, take a gander at our first look!

Why is Nick grinning? Cuz I just gave a pinch on bum... two to be exact... one on each cheek!

I have this weird thing about pinching... so much that my moms calls me a "pinch @ss b!t&%" or P.A.B. for short.

I was a mix bag of emotions here. Nick looked so good, I'm not too shabby either ;)

Here is a pic of Stephan doing his usher thang. He was a big help throughout the whole day... a little show-off but cute all the same!

So by now I was all giggles and a complete pose whore. I would get in on any and every pic!

This one is cute... I don't know if Steph was kissing or jut hugging his little sis Sierra.

So this is how it shaped up. We were all supposed to assemble (as you see in the pics below) at a certain time, but we were all too busy chatting it up. Our priest was trying to break it up to get us all in place.

Now it was time to commence... Nick and his party/family on one side...

Me and my crew on the other... and the kiddies in the middle.

waiting to "enter" with the parents.

And then it began. We chose "Canon in D" for our processional.
Our cute flower girls Sierra and Maddy... they became quick friends.
Hey look, there are the pomanders I made!

My nephew Steph and sister-in-law Chawney.

The procession was so magical. The guys entered in at one side and the girls on the other. They then met up in the middle and proceeded down the aisle. Everybody did and amazing job, especially the kiddies. Look at my nephew here... he is such a charmer!
My brother Merv & niece Deneeka

Nicks navy buddy Mickey (hubba hubba) and my friend Nicole

Nick's bro Aaron and my MOH... best friend Brandi

So then it was Nick's turn with his parents...

Then my turn! I was so nervous and excited to get down that aisle! But so proud to have both my mom and my dad there with me. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love this shot. Damn my veil is loooong!

I was feeling OK leading up to the procession but then tears, tears and more tears... what else is new!

I wonder what Nick was thinking here. Look at him biting his lip... he's probably thinking DAMN you freakin' eh!

We don't have very many pics of the actual ceremony because it is not permitted... but we probably go some goes shots on film courtesy of StillMotion.

Now this is when it gets kinda blurry for me. After our priest said his part, and after we exchanged rings, our family and friends had a chance to congratulate and hug us. But we didn't kiss, and we weren't declared married. We had to go sign the register first.

Jokes all around!

So we somehow magically got back to the front and we were then declared husband and wife.

We chose "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" for the Recessional. I still do remember how the songs goes. All still a blur.

SIGH! We did it!

Only a couple regrets, we didn't get a pic with our priest... his homily was pure jokes and serious at the same time. It was almost like he was the star of the show! It made Nick's Grandma's day to actually meet him in person. She was over the moon!

Also missing are one on one pics with the wedding party, but that's OK, cuz I wasn't really feeling the posed shots. Besides, it's all about ME! I mean us!

So ya we're married... but before we get this party started, I have to share some parting shots... that's up next y'all!

Thank You Cards!
Thank You Weddingbee for introducing me to Sara of Stinkerpants Designs! She is the mastermind behind our Thank You cards!

She was one of my favourite bee's back in the day... her handle was Mrs. Cream Puff. I followed her wedding religiously and used some of her ideas for my own nuptials... most notable were the photocard reminders.

It was in one of the "If your leaving Weddingbee" posts that I found out that she did this ish for a living! Not only does she have mad designs, but she is sooo cool and accommodating.

It all started back in October when I contacted her and wanted to get a quote on 100 Thank You cards to add to our wedding suite. I was all set to go with just the generic card with our ornate design and Bickham scrip on the front... but that does not scream Natalie. So she got back to me and I was hooked! Look what she made from scratch just for us!

I was thinking of using the whole nautical theme, cuz Nick is in the Navy. So while we were brainstorming, I remembered taking a pics of the HMCS Charlottetown that was docked in Toronto harbor back in the fall:
Our Thank You card inspiration! I took this pick about a half hour before NKOTB concert... we had some time to kill.

So I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have our own ship? I suggested having Nick and I pose in front of one with him in his formals and me in my dress... enter the McG-D! Nick had a lot of input too! Not initially though, cuz I wanted to keep it a surprise, but Natalie and secrets don't mix.

We were just about ready to sign off on the project when Nick said he wanted his shoes to shine... or "ting" as he would put it. So we went back for another draft.

I can't believe how much the illustration looks like us! With Nick's chin and my dimples. I'm even wearing my wedding band. My dress is perfect too! When sending proofs back and forth, Sara was kind enough to cover up my dress so Nick wouldn't get a sneek peek!

And on the back it reads "This card was made from Scratch especially for Nick and Nat" I'm honoured!

I'm so in love with the final outcome! Thanks so much Sara for your patience, you are a true talent! Like I said before, If I had it in the budget, I would have gotten the whole wedding suite done... but I know we will work together on the future projects!

Oh ya, almost forgot to show you the mailing labels... My sister created a fresh new label for the envelopes.

I wanted to go with a different theme for these since the cards were more personal. At first I just wanted a quick label with a box for the address outlined with dots, and our monogram on the back, but my sister surprised me with this label. It's the same design from one of my websites (which I haven't revealed yet... but soon!)

I love the labels, so preppy! Just like me :)

As a special bonus to our wedding party, we gave each person, and the parents, a copy of our slideshow and SDE. They came in these cool silver cases. I decided to wrap them up in my left over fuchsia and navy ribbon I purchased at Micheal's. I stuck the ribbon on with a ZOT adhesive glue dot and tied it up nice.

That's it! I'm also in the middle of creating a Blurb album for the parents too!

And on a P.S. I just found out today that Weddingbee announced a new bee who happens to by black... what took so long? Congrats to Miss Swan!

P.P.S. I'm still not bitter I wasn't chosen to become a bee last summer, but I think they were bitter that I spoke out about the sale to eHarmony. Reason why I say this is because Michael at StillMotion appaently wrote a post on featuring my SDE on WeddingbeePRO (there were mad referrals to my site and StillMotion's Vimeo page). So when I checked out the link I got an error message, which could only mean it was removed. I was in shock at first but whatever... it's Bee's site, so she can control the content.

StillMotion still rocks and everybody knows it :) All in all, I'm glad Weddingbee is becoming more diverse.

That all I really want to say about that. Peace!

They don’t call me CRY-CRY for nothin!
That's what I was called as a kid, cuz, I would cry for everything. I was an attention whore even back then. I don't think I was craving attention so much back then, I was just very emotional... ya that's it.

My sister and friend Mark kept tally at how many times I would cry during the reception... I think their last count was 12! And that was the reception only!

Our cinematographer Michael made this statement on the StillMotion blog:
"So last week we finally shot Nick + Nat(Nat's) wedding; and she is every bit as funny, quirky, and cool as you'd expect from her blog posts. With that said, I believe that Nat always wanted an emotional SDE, and by looking @ the crazy tear shots in her SDE (including one that is arguably the mother of them all), she made the job easy for us."

DAYUM! He just baited me out! I think he was talking about when I stepped out of the limo just bawling... not sniffling, audible sounds came out of my mouth! I was a mess! This pic of my niece is classic... it's like "wha di @ss are you crying about?"

look at me trying to cover up my face while I ball.

If you though it stopped there, your wrong... but I paused just long enough to make sure my make-up was all in check. Look at my swollen tear filled eyes!

I suck :(

I was all for the tear jerking vid for our guest, cuz I figured if I'm gonna be crying y'all are too, but at the last minute, I changed my mind and asked them to go with a fun and upbeat Same Day Edit (SDE) cuz I didn't want to cry, but my choice of music didn't quite fit (Jon B's All For You) so I let go of the reigns and let Patrick and his crew do what they do best. Don't get me wrong though, I not or wasn't one of those brides who tried to tell the pros what to do, I just wanted a song by my fav artist to be played.

That being said, Patrick suggested we use "All For You" as the music for the slide show. And boy did it ever work. They started the surprise presentation with the slide show and it was perfect! It just showcased Nick and I growing up, and then couple shots throughout our relationship. Then it ended. People started to clap thinking that was it but it went right into the SDE.

I felt like a star the whole day, with the paparazzi following me around. Our guests didn't have a clue. Some were asking "who are those computer guys?" Micheal and Patrick were editing the video throughout the day.

The song they ended up with is my new favourtie... "Say" by OneRepublic. I can't get it out of my head! They are the ones that sung that song "Apologize".

Patrick was all ready to use use "Lost without You" by Robin Thicke cuz again, it was my fav, and Micheal and Konrad was like "oh hellz naw, use this song"... or something along those lines. Good looking out Micheal and K-Dog, I mean Konrad. I don't even know if people call him that, but I'm gonna cuz after seeing his performance in Jamaica... well you be the judge... he's got some moves!

Break it down!

We were sooo fortunate to get this SDE done, as it was one of the last Premium SDE's that the team at StillMotion will be doing for some time. Nick was so impressed, he asked Patrick on the sneak to continue filming so we could get the full feature film!

I'm sure tears will be flowing then too!

A full vendor review will be coming soon, but in the meantime... thanks sooooo much Micheal (who did most of the editing on the SDE) Patrick and K-Dog (Konrad). You made sure I stayed true to my nickname.

The Ceremony is up next y'all!

Rollin' wit da homies!
So Nick and his crew was up first for the the limo ride. We managed to get a Navigator for our ride... I think the price was 50% off courtesy of a last minute visit to the Bridal show back in January.

I'm getting ahead of myself right now, lets rewind a likkle bit.

We left off at Nick hopping into the limo and enjoying the ride with the boys.
Nikko and his crew back at the hotel waiting to hop in the limo.

left to right... GM Stephan poking his head out... GM Mickey, MC Ben (my brother)

Steph checking out the system... the radio wasn't working.

Nicks bro and Best Man Aaron, and my bro Mervin... who's forever in cap

And here is 1/3 of the amazing cinematography crew that is StillMotion...
What's up Konrad!

I really can't speak for Nick's limo ride, cuz I wasn't there. Nick is currently out west doing his Navy thang, so lets get on to meee!

The Nav rolled up to the parents house right on time. My mom and dad we loading up in the their rental van, packed with our relatives. I felt like a star. We got plenty of pics of me in the car and coming out but before beforehand... not so much. Totally my bad, I only asked our photographer to show up at the ceremony. It's all good.

We got to the church in a quick 5 minutes but we didn't want to disembark because there were still guests arriving! What's up with that? We asked our driver, who's name happens to be Nick, to just drive around the neighborhood for a few minutes... It was at that moment that I realized I forgot my bolero at home!

No big deal right, well not really. Our church has a strict policy on bare shoulders, plus I really wanted to wear it. So I go to grab my phone, but I didn't have it, because someone told me I didn't need it. I was going to call my dad, but I didn't memorize his number... all I know is that he is speed dial #7.

So BM Nicole did the next best thing, she called Patrick of StillMotion.

He had given her his celly number so she could call him to announce that we have arrive. I think she was thrilled because she developed a little crush on him :) We totally got him to do our bidding. We asked him to check with the priest if it was OK to do the ceremony with my bare shoulders... I found out later that he spoke to Nick to check with Father Roy. He was like, fine with me. OK then. Next thing you know, I see my sister running to the limo bringing me my bolero. Crisis averted!

I think this pic was taken right after a crying spell.

Here I am coming out of the limo.... I was just about to lose it here!

That's it for now! Next up, Cry-Cry in full effect!

Nick and his crew get ready...
First off, apologies all around for the late post. I'll be sure to post more frequently now that this one is outta the way!

So when I was making up the itinerary for the boys, I didn't really know what to put. I mean, Nick said it best when we were talking to Patrick about the prep... "we just have to take care of the three S's... (s%@t, shower and shave)" Patrick, being quick on the update, aptly said "um ya, we'll just cover one of those!"

With that said, I'll let Nikko take over...

OK, so this was the morning before the wedding - as you can all see we look pretty rough.

Let's keep this G rated... we can only handle one of the S's

So now that I have had time for breakfast, it's time to shave for the camera as usual.

I've never seen Merv in a suit and tie until today... looking pretty good!

Speaking of not seeing someone in a suit and tie, here's another guy who can't seem to get his suspenders on.

I have a sneaky feeling that this young lad will be wearing one of these again.

Ahhhhh Chooooo.... Sniffle* I just sneezed into that rag, I feel sorry for the girl at Freemans who has to clean it

More Camera work... isn't it grand! I feel like Paris Hilton (actually the Hilton is right next door to this hotel).

"Damn, you look good", Damn, you look good too"... That's cuz were brothers!

Uhhh, what's that? I think the rings might be in these boxes... BIG ring - hope it doesn't show up on MY Visa.

OK, lemme interject here. The night of the rehearsal dinner, I gave Nick a bag of gifts that I wrapped for his crew... included was the package above. He was supposed to open it in front of the camera :( If he did, he would have gotten a chance to wear these spiffy boxers:

Taken in Cancun, after Nick finally opened his gifts

I also got him this sweet card created by Sara of Stinkerpants Designs! The inside states "I give you my heart!" I freaking love this card and Sara's designs. If I had the money I sooo would have commissioned her to created our wedding suite... sorry Suzette, you know her invites rock. Instead we decided to do something else. And you know what comes next, more on that lata!

I also got him those BR propeller cuff links in silver and gold to match his grooms men along with the cologne "for him" by Narciso Rodriguez.

Now back to Nick's commentary!

Bling Bling... Welcome to the Navy Boys!

Thanks for the gift Uncle Nick! Finally, my first piece of Bling!

Ok, this camera guy is starting to annoy me. How come he is in more pics than me?

Wonder Twins Activate! Form of - Grooms man!

You've got to be seriously bored to watch a wedding show on the day of a wedding your participating in... Kids these days.

Damn, I look good again!

Finally we're on our way, and not one picture of Peter... I wonder where the guy is?

"Enter the limo" - there's no turning back now.

So yaaaa... um apparently Nikko is at a loss for words... please forgive him. He's mad busy trying to get things in order by the end of the week... he's heading out west again (tear) for four (4) months for training :(

Next up the limo ride!

P.S. Special thanks goes out to Peter, who was our photographer for while the gents got ready! And a quick shout out to Konrad of StillMotion... you did good man!
