INEXPENSIVE FUCHSIA ROSE PETALS!!
So, I've been hearing about rose petals purchased from Ebay. They're VERY affordable, but they all have to be peeled one by one. I decided to give the ones at Dollar Tree a go. They sell them in packs of 300 for $1. Problem is, they're WHITE, LIGHT PINK, or RED. I need FUCHSIA. So, I purchased only 3 packs (for this trial)...and a box of powder RIT fabric dye. I think they turned out pretty good...BUT...I they are a bit stringy at the ends (some of them). So, for 900 fuchsia rose petals...($3), rit dye ($2 from Michael's) Here are the steps I took to dye these....

You'll need:
Big Pot
Spatula or Large Spoon
Vinegar
Salt
RIT Dye
Rose Petals (of course, lol)
An old pillowcase or towel

Instructions:
Bring water to simmer..
Pour in petals (be sure that all of them are soaked in the pot)
Pour in dye
pour in a cup of vinegar
pour in tablespoon of salt
stir occasionally until desired color...(I kept mine in for 2 hours on medium heat)
After you achieve desired shade...RINSE IN COLD WATER, place in towel and towel dry...or place in old pillow case and toss in dryer on low heat, or air fluff.

Wedding Flowers
DOESN'T THIS WATER LOOK RED????
Ok, so everyone knows I'm on a VERY SMALL budget...I've been doing "drive-by's" to every Dollar Tree buying out all of these flowers (still not sold on the vase though..I think I'm gonna buy the cylinder shaped ones instead). ANYWHO, instead of spending more money on vase fillers, I decided to use water and PINK food color. I bought some from the grocery store and it said "NEON PINK"...but it looks EXACTLY like PURE RED! I started with 1 drop...and it looked like a lighter shade of red....then 3 drops...STILL RED....then 5 MORE DROPS! It looks even REDDER!! I may have to wait until Easter for for the little pill like thingys they have in the egg coloring kits. PLEASE let me know if any of you know of some DECENT food coloring or even CHEAP vase fillers. THANKS A BUNCHES!!!

Hoop Skirt for $32
If there is anyone here with a "poofy" gown.. I'd like to recommend "socoboa" from Ebay. Shipping was SUPER fast...and I LOVE the hoopskirt! It makes it much easier to walk in the gown...PLUS it makes the gown look better (to me). The POOFIER the BETTER! :-)

Here's the link to their Ebay Store...

LAST QUESTION OF 2011!!
HAPPY NEW YEARS LADY!!!
I'd like to wish everyone lots of joy, happiness, love, peace, and prosperity for 2012!!! I'm such an emotional cornball...but it really warms my heart to come here and see that SO MANY beautiful people have found someone to share their lives with. I know some people can take independence to the extreme and put on a persona like they don't need anyone...Truth is, EVERYBODY needs SOMEBODY!

On another note:
Where the HEYOLL do the brides of WBC disappear to after their wedding? I mean, I've been on here almost ALL DAY reading blogs of women from 1 or 2 years ago. When I'm interested in their ideas and plans, I go back to look for the wedding pictures (or the end result of the project)...and it's like they just dropped off the face of the earth. I just think that's sooooo inconsiderate. They spend MONTHS talking, posting about their upcoming wedding.....but NEVER SHOW HOW EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER. I can understand a few months later because you're getting used to your married life...BUT A WHOLE 2 YEARS??? Na! I promise not to do that to y'all.....even if my wedding doesn't meet all of my expectations.

Ask a Question
HELP! I have a BIG problem on my hands.
Today we were at our family's house for Christmas dinner, and someone asked me "when is the wedding?" I told them July. As you all know, I planned to have our wedding on the birthday of my niece who passed away in 2010 of cancer. My sister (her mother) was sitting next to me when I answered July. She said, "I hope you don't think you're having your wedding on Amber's birthday?" I said, "Yes"...she said, "well, I won't be there." My mom said, "why not? what's the problem?" (Being that my sister had her wedding on our deceased brother's birthday...(which she knew I had mention to have our wedding on at 1st). So, now I'm confused. Should I change our wedding date? My sister is the only one who had a problem with it. Even her husband (my nieces' father) thought it was a sweet gesture. I'm just soooo confused right now. I really don't want to change our date...I'm always the one compromising for EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY. I just don't want to do it this time. Especially, since it means so much to me. What do you girls think??

I think I may add rhinestones throughout the veil. I'm still not sure yet. I wanted brooches on the headpiece to coincide with my brooch bouquet.

Trying the Tissue Pom Pom
It's Sunday, and I'm bored...so I decided to TRY to do a mock up of the reception's tablescape. I kinda like it...but maybe I'll like it better with the REAL linens and chair covers arrive.I used the plastic ones from the Dollar Tree. The curvy vase is also from Dollar Tree. I bought double and glued two together. They didn't have orange tissue paper...so, that's where the green cam in. Originally, these pom poms would be on the trees, the arch on shepherd hooks on the aisle...and hanging from the ceiling. I thought about making them do double duty as centerpieces....I think I may stick to the flower pomanders as centerpieces instead. We'll see!

Backyard Wedding Ceremony & Recreation Center Reception
Our wedding date isn't available! It's all my fault!
It's ALL MY FAULT that I waited this long to book our venue. 2 days ago, I tried to book it for July 28...and they're booked until AUGUST! I choose to look at it as a blessing. I was going to change the date....but I'm set on having it on my beautiful niece's birthday. Sooooo...me being "EL CHEAPO" ANNDDDDD considering my grandmother begged everyone who got married in our family to marry in her backyard (which they all declined). WE'RE going to be the 1st couple to marry in the backyard (my mom and dad married in her living room). Anywho, I figure SOMEBODY must've known I could handle something like this (I beg to differ, but I'll try). We'll be having the wedding ceremony in the backyard..and the reception in an old auditorium where my uncle works....both venues are FREE (of course) but the $500 I saved from losing the other venue, I'll probably have to spend in fabric. The auditorium is SUPER UGLY....No, I won't say that...It has CHARACTER...but I do see a lot of potential. I've added pics of the reception place...ALL DECOR IDEAS ARE WELCOME! :-)

DIY Save The Date Ideas
Trying to figure out something cheap, but fun!
Vistaprint has 8x5 postcards for $15 for 100 cards. I'm trying to think of something fun for the cards. So far, I thought of doing one of our photos in a "cartoon" effect and decorating the postcard as a movie poster (a romance to be exact). Here's what I got so far. Keep in mind that I don't know squadally dit about graphics or design or none of this computer stuff. I did in paint using text and copy & paste.lol (I know, sad right?) Anywho, I included a pic of the design of the card (don't pay any attention to my pic..I was just practicing...and kinda liked it...so I saved it so I wouldn't forget. We'll take our engagement pics after Xmas. I also uploaded a pic of the cartoon effect thingy. It's kinda blurry because this particular pic was crappy to begin with.lol..
P.S...where we met is affectionately known as "The Heart of Decatur" aka..the movie title.

Pink
Hiiiiiya!!! I'm finally ready to have my wedding! After being together since age 18, and NUMEROUS refusals of going to the Justice Of The Peace....my wedding dream is finally about to happen. I'm a simple (but dramatic) girl who likes plain things that makes A LOT of impact. I want everything to be as DIY and as low budget as possible. #1, I don't like spending a LOT of money on things I'm not gonna really use anymore (i.e my wedding gown, wedding decor, etc). #2, we're really poor and can't afford to spend a LOT of money. #3 we have 2 scholarship funds to replenish.lol Anywho, ever since I could remember, PINK has ALWAYS been my favorite color. I chose fuchsia and orange as my wedding colors. I chose my 6-year-old nieces birthday (who passed away to Cancer last year) as our wedding date. She also loved PINK! I plan to have a FABULOUS, custom, vintage-esque wedding for *drum roll please* UNDER $3000! I know, people look at me crazy when announce our budget...but ANYTHING is possible. right?? As of now (November 19,2011) I have 250 days to pull it off (and to lose weight in the meantime). PLEASE PRAY FOR ME! I'm so excited about this journey.!
