So, I've been hearing about rose petals purchased from Ebay. They're VERY affordable, but they all have to be peeled one by one. I decided to give the ones at Dollar Tree a go. They sell them in packs of 300 for $1. Problem is, they're WHITE, LIGHT PINK, or RED. I need FUCHSIA. So, I purchased only 3 packs (for this trial)...and a box of powder RIT fabric dye. I think they turned out pretty good...BUT...I they are a bit stringy at the ends (some of them). So, for 900 fuchsia rose petals...($3), rit dye ($2 from Michael's) Here are the steps I took to dye these....
You'll need:
Big Pot
Spatula or Large Spoon
Vinegar
Salt
RIT Dye
Rose Petals (of course, lol)
An old pillowcase or towel
Instructions:
Bring water to simmer..
Pour in petals (be sure that all of them are soaked in the pot)
Pour in dye
pour in a cup of vinegar
pour in tablespoon of salt
stir occasionally until desired color...(I kept mine in for 2 hours on medium heat)
After you achieve desired shade...RINSE IN COLD WATER, place in towel and towel dry...or place in old pillow case and toss in dryer on low heat, or air fluff.
