Wedding Reception
So Excited - but so much to do!
We have a little over 2 weeks to do and I'm amazed at how time has flown! We have so much to do still, but I know it will all work out with little stress....hopefully! This Saturday is his bachelor party. After that, I have the whole week to pick up my dress and do more things. Then my bachelorette party - with my bridesmaid from California coming in to stay with us. I don't even know where to start with all the things that still need done - and on top of it, we will be moving when we return from our honeymoon (plus getting a puppy). Super excited for everything coming up so quickly!

Royal Wedding Excitement
I have been watching the royal wedding coverage since it started this morning. I may start speaking with a british accent soon - that is how much I have watched! In all this, we have 50 days left until our own wedding. I am so excited! The royal wedding only made me more excited for my own! And it made me want to wear a fancy hat.

Wedding Invitation
IT'S OFFICIAL!!
Ok, obviously, it was official before - but now it just feels so official! I finally finished our invites! They went out 4 days ago and we already have 3 rsvp postcards back! :-D I am soooo excited! It's such a good feeling that we officially have 6 guests coming haha! We have a lot coming up in the upcoming weeks too. Saturday, we are meeting with our priest, purchasing our rings, and my bridal shower is the next day! After that, I have a million meetings to set up and things that need paid off - as well as looking seriously into a new place to live. We decided we are officially going to be moving at the beginning of June. Lots of stuff to do - very little time in which to do it. I am sooooo excited though - and I officially fit in my wedding dress again (I had gained a bit of weight last year and it no longer fit). There is a slight possibility that it may even need taken in! Thank you Group Groove (I accredit my gym entirely b/c I still eat more junk food than I should).

Moving?
My fiance has decided that we can no longer stand the smell of strong food and cigarettes seeping up through from the apartment below us - along with the weird screaming at 1 AM from our delightful new neighbors. So we have decided that moving is now in the cards! We can't buy right now, so we are looking into renting a townhouse. Unfortunately we have absolutely NO TIME to look at places and actually move before the wedding - so it's up in the air as to when it will happen. It would be nice if it can be done before the wedding - but we are now at that point where we are beginning to get a LOT of stuff done and meet with people/vendors. We are def. busy bees! Very exciting times ahead!

Wedding Cake
We have ordered our cake!
We ordered our cake last weekend! It is going to have a tan base like in the picture, but the swirls will be very different. The ribbon will be navy blue and we have swirls and a few tan roses. I was so excited to design our own cake - one I had not seen online or anywhere else! It's one of a kind. The filling is raspberry and mango! No joke - it tastes like a fruit smoothie - it is so delicious! We also will be having a dessert bar which was a really cool feature. If you are in the Pittsburgh area, I totally recommend Signature Desserts for your cake b/c I am getting all 7 desserts for the dessert bar, a dozen choc. covered strawberries for my bridal party, 4 dozen cookies for the dessert bar, and a 3 tier wedding cake for 400 bucks! And they taste AMAZING! Lucky for us, our reception hall isn't far, so we only have to pay 20 bucks for delivery :) So excited to get another thing checked off our list!

Should I add plumeria?
I found a bouquet I really like online - it has real touch roses and peonies. That is the first picture. I have the option of adding the plumeria in the second picture. It won't cost extra or anything - they will just add more peonies if I choose not to do the plumeria. But what do you think? Will it look ok, or is it a strange look? I'm worried it will look odd with all the "fluffiness" of the other flowers. I don't have any island theme or anything - i just think they are really pretty.

Wedding Reception
Soooo Excited!
Overall this is just a random post to say how excited I am. We have bumped over the 100 day hump! Double digits are soooo nice to be in right now! We looked at rings last weekend (I knew exactly what I wanted, but my FH has a handful coming in for us to look at - what a choosy man haha). We should be seeing them in around a week or so and we can choose then. I got promoted at work :) I am now a co-director for our after school program and I am thrilled (plus that meant a raise!!) This is just what we need because I am really out of money! haha This wedding is draining me! We have our song - When I say I Do, By Matthew West. We are working on booking out honeymoon to Orlando haha - it's taking awhile b/c my FH is set on doing it. Problem is, spending big bucks on big decisions is tough for him. It is for me too, but not as much lol. There is still so much to do - lots of supplies to be ordered (I'm thinking of going down the fake flower route for my bouquet now - i really want "real touch" flowers. If anyone has any suggestions of someone who makes them at a reasonable price, i would love that! Our cake appts are in a few weeks. And I'm sending out my invites next month...but I havent even started them...not good. Gotta get movin on that! I feel slightly stressed, but also just burnt out. I wish it was just here already!

I have my wedding shoes! They were a gift from a friend who is also our consultant from the bridal store. She knew I wanted them, but couldn't afford them at the time. So she bought them for me as my shower gift! But since I need them for alterations, I get to have them now :-)

Happy Belated Valentines Day!
I am sending out belated happy valentines day wishes to all! Hope you had a wonderful day/afternoon/evening with your valentine!!! With the new job working with the after school program kiddos, and still a substitute teacher, my 12 hour days are starting to catch up to me. By the time I make it home, I pass out on my couch and can't move! haha! We celebrated Valentines day on Friday because of this (and I needed 2 Dr. Pepper's and a choc milkshake so I could stay awake!) We hit up Red Robin (totally us - yes I know it's not a typical romantic joint haha), and then the movies (and it was BEIBER FEVER cuz the movie came out! We opted to see "Just Go with It" - which I totally recommend if you like silly humor! It was hilarious!) Even still, I was pleasantly surprised to come home last night at 7:30 to a heart shaped box of Lindor truffles and the most thoughtful card I have EVER read!
Anyway - most updated place in our planning: - We have chosen what we want to do for our honeymoon but have not booked it yet. Like I said, with the 12 hour days, my FH and I forget to sit down together and do that when I get home (plus we are anxious about spending over $3,000 on a trip to Orlando) but it's a beautiful hotel and we will have unlimited trips to universal studios, harry potter world, sea world, and all the other parks associated with the two (and including flights and car rental, that's not bad) - I have a cake appt (I have opted against making my cake - I will prob stress over it, as I am a perfectionist when it comes to that). My cake appt isn't till March 26th, but I have one other bakery I need to make an appt for on March 12th (when I find a chance to call them back haha). - Our flower girl dress is in, and I'm going to pick it up with my cousin saturday and check out the shoes she got for her daughter. Since I will be in the area, I need to pick up all 18 vases my mom scored a few weeks back (she is a savior! I was freaking out we wouldn't find them! Thanks again ladies how helped me on my search!) - My bridal shower (which is being planned as mostly a surprise) is set for May 1st! I gotta get out the guest list and count for my MOH and mommy so they can get the invites together. Again - 12 hour day, find no time/energy. Gotta get on the ball! |

wedding cake complications
Am I crazy for considering baking my own cake? I could bake a 2 tier and order a sheet cake from the bakery real cheap (this I prob wouldn't need an appt for). I am running into issues that one bakery doesn't have any available appts for 6 weeks! and then the other just doesn't feel like calling me back...I'm kinda confident cuz I'm an okay baker - I can do birthday cakes with no problem and I'm workin on my decorating skills. I need to learn to make my own icing though b/c store bought is just a pain. Is anyone else making their cake?
