The Jefferson Hotel
Richmond, VA

There have been a few places I've been all "SQUEE!!!" about when scouting out a venue, but none of them have come even close to the "squee" I let out when I saw this place. I'd gone through all of the VA & Richmond bridal guides and while I really liked some of the places, none of them really hit that "omg, i must have it!!" note until this one. I decided I needed to look for an antique hotel, or something similar. Chris suggested it. Sure, I have my heart set on an outdoor wedding but I could easily sacrifice it for this- it's absolutely to die for!

It's well outside of the budget range we were hoping to keep to, but we both agree that it's well worth it. After all, we're only getting married once and we both have that warm tingling fuzzy feeling when we look at photos of it. It would mean that we'd have to use a lot more money out of the cheque his dad's giving us for the wedding, but to make up for that, his mom & my dad are going to be giving us a significant amount towards the wedding too (even if I have to force him into it) and I'm going to be working full time, as well as having a second part time job to save up some money. Chris will probably working at least part-time while he's in school. Money shouldn't be too much of an issue. So hopefully, considering I want to try and DIY as much as I can to keep the rest of the costs low, we should be able to pull this one off. Even if it means cutting our guestlist even further.

Chris desperately wants the hotel because his grandparents celebrated their golden anniversary there before his granddad passed away. He feels like if they were able to have their 50th there, it must be good luck. haha. so cute!

The Jefferson Hotel can offer that grand entrance!  You are the Queen!
It offers a place for out of town guests and is a different reception from the outdoor beach wedding.
This wedding should be planned like you are royalty!   Make everything traditional and elegant!
