What's Your Groom Wearing?

Honestly, I'd love to see Chris in a top & tails set, but there's not a chance in hell that I'll ever manage that! So I'm pretty much letting him pick whatever he wants within reason.

I've managed to get him to compromise though- I wanted him in a white satin vest & tie, but instead we're going with a white w/ pinstripe vest so that he doesn't feel so self-conscious of being the groom. haha.

He's torn between a traditional tuxedo and a western one though. I'm pretty happy with either. He's got all the stuff to add to the western tux- belt, buckle, hat & he's gonna buy some new boots. The western one is more him but he does clean up nicely in a regular tux.

He's planning on wearing the cufflinks my mother got him for his birthday for the ceremony- its a mismatch pair. One is an american flag, and one's a union jack. Then he's switching them out for a pair of skull cufflinks he already owns for the reception. He's going to get a tie from cyberoptix.com with a black or silver screen print across it, and he's going to look into finding out how much it would cost to have the same image screen printed across the back of his vest. I want him to wear his hat for a few photos- The hat was the reason why we even met! haha.

I haven't told him that I'm planning on giving him my grandfathers favourite set of cufflinks that he left me when he passed away. He gave them to me with the agreement that I would give them to my husband on our wedding day. I've always loved them- they're a pair of gold penny farthings. One is one side of the coin, the other is the opposite side of the coin. They're beautiful.

My groom will be wearing nice brown pants and a white button-up.  We're going pretty casual.  He hates ties, and I think he's much more handsome without them so there you go!

We really like the retro look and I have decided on a retro 50's style prom dress (recreated) for me and we really would have liked to see him in a white linen Mod Suit Jacket, but it is going to be way too hot in August!

So instead, he has opted for white linen pants (or "trousers" as he would say;) and a cotton mauve coloured (to match the kids dresses) short sleeve polo style shirt...and both without shoes until we absolutely need them!
