I'm still tossing around the idea for flowers. When i was in a bridal shop today I was talking with the assistant and she asked about flowers. I said I wasn't keen on the idea so I was thinking of some alternatives- either making a bouquet out of vintage jewelry, or using silk flowers but having the majority of the bouquet make of crystals & feathers, or even making flowers out of feathers. Then I was talking with another friend of mine earlier tonight and she suggested that since we're giving out silk fans to the ladies as favors, why don't i get the girls to carry feather fans? I LOVE the idea!!

I'm thinking for me, I might have a bouquet made with silk flowers, but use lots of crystals & feathers in the design as well. once I'm done with it, i could stick it in a vase and make a nice table centerpiece out of it (if my cat doesn't destroy it first)

I'll probably stick with fresh flower corsages for the mothers & grandmothers though- they'd like that.

I'm not using any flowers what so ever anywhere!  I have a crystal bouquet that I have made with feathers.  My girls are carrying a feather fan and I made all the boutiners with feathers and crystals. Just look at my blog and you'll get plenty of ideas.

What a clever idea..I love the ideas in the second picture!

In response to your comment, I'm not sure what the style number is to be honest. I couldn't even find the dress on the website, but the lady in the store did tell me that it does have another cut date, so J McClintock will be keeping that dress around for at least another season. It's actually the prom dress version, the bridal gown is exactly the same only it has a beter material and a small train..so that takes care of my worry! Even if I did get the exact dress I tried on, it might be nice to not have to worry about a train, especially since we are having an outdoor wedding!

For my oldest sisters wedding and also for my brothers wedding instead of flowers we carried Candles.

My oldest sister bought like candle holder sets that held tea light but that had stems... and she decorated them with gold beads and tulle.. they were gorgous.

My sister in law went to like pier 1 imports and bought wine glasses with a cracked effect... she had red and peach roses that looked like they had been rained on glued on on the bottoms of the glasses and we carried them with votives in them that were lite...
