Wedding Decoration
Yea! More things done!!
This weekend was a busy week for wedding stuff. I finished my ring bearer pillow, finished my centerpieces, got my toasting flutes, finished my card box, got some candles and borrowed the cookies jars from Mom.
I made the pillow with some fabric from Hobby Lobby and some satin ribbon. The centerpieces finally got the ribbon and monogram put on. I used double stick tape…some of the corners are still popping up. I may go back and reinforce with gluedots. The champagne flutes are my Mom’s. They are black and white so they go perfectly. We are still trying to decide what to toast with…we don’t drink and I don’t drink anything sparkling so…I want to toast with what we always order when we go out to dinner…a chocolate milkshake. What do you think? Too crazy? I finished embellishing my card box and got some cute votives to put on the guest book table. Finally I also borrowed two large cookie jars for my dessert table. Instead of a chocolate fountain we decided to do milk and Oreos (black and white) We are going to get some glass Oberweis bottles and decorate the cookie jars with ribbon or fabric. I can't believe how close the wedding is. More things to do this weekend… 1) Buy veil 2) Buy candy for favors 3) Order remaining groomsmen gifts 4) Get dress altered 5) Work on seating chart 6) Work on music list for ceremony 7) Work on music list for church 8) Get decorations for church 9) Get Thank You notes folded 10) ??????? |

Out of Town Bags
What else should be in there?
I finished making the bags for my out of town guests. I have some things to go in but still want something else. Anyone else doing bags? What are you putting in? Right now I have...
- Two bottles of Harrah’s St. Louis water - Two dice from Harrah’s - A deck of cards from Harrah’s - A ball from Dave & Buster’s St. Louis - Some Starbucks candy - Some St. Louis info books When it gets closer I will get a few oranges to go in (an Asian good luck symbol) and maybe some chips or pretzels. |

In Search of Veil
Where can I get one?
HELP!! I have put it off for as long as I can but I have to get a veil soon because I want to do some trial runs. I refuse to pay over $100 for a veil at David’s Bridal but I remember someone posting about some veils that they ordered off the internet and they were very reasonable in price. Does anyone have someone that they would recommend? I have tried to DIY one but I just don't think I have the time anymore.

Wedding Invitation
Yea! They are mailed!
I finally mailed my invitations! Thank goodness for my Mom who addressed all of them and then helped me seal and mail them. Victor and I stuffed them Sunday night and after Mom and I sealed them she dropped them off at the post office yesterday. I can’t wait to get my RSVP’s back!
Did anyone else feel a huge relief when your invitations finally got mailed? I am glad that a huge “to-do” is off the list. |

Rehearsal Dinner
Finally booked!
We have finally decided upon a rehearsal dinner spot after much discussion and negotiating. Maggiano’s is an Italian restaurant where Victor took me after he proposed. We will be having a private room and dinner served family style. We don’t have the menu set yet but I am sure it will be yummy!

Groomsmen Gifts
Cufflinks
Victor actually decided what he wanted to get his guys without any input from me and he did a great job! All of his guys are big gamers and he found the cutest cuff links in the shape of a video game cartridge. We ordered one set last weekend to see what they look like in person. I can’t wait to get them. I think the guys will love them. What are you doing for groomsmen gifts?
UPDATE!! - Last night, Victor brought over the sample that we ordered and it is too cute!! We both love them and are planning on ordering the rest this weekend. I can't wait to see the guys reactions! |

Honeymoon
Disney here we come!
My dream was always to go to Disney for my honeymoon and yea, we are going. I think this we decided before we even thought about getting engaged. Victor is not terribly excited about it but I know it will be tons of fun. Are you going where you have always wanted? Did you pick the spot out together or are you being surprised?

Garter
Superman?!
Again I was just planning a simple white garter but my cousin emailed this to me. Victor loves superman, he has a superman “S” on his upper arm and I am surprising him with a superman grooms cake, so when I saw this I knew it would be a neat way to incorporate his interests in the wedding. Anyone else doing an outlandish garter?

Wedding Cake
Crazy Cute Topper
OK, so I was totally planning a beautiful cake topper with maybe our monogram or something like that but now we have completely changed our minds. While looking on ebay for a cheap cake topper I found this. It was much more expensive than what I was originally looking at but we got such a tickle out of it that we had to have it! Victor is such a gamer and this is actually the scene in his house almost every weekend. I think it will mean more to us, and make everyone smile, so much more than a simple monogram.

Wedding Hair Style
Tiara is here!
I wanted to wear a tiara for the wedding but not one that was very big or looked like a crown so Victor looked on ebay and found this one for 18.00. We ordered it right away and finally got it today. It is bigger in diameter than I thought but the metal band is flexible so it can be bent as needed. I am thinking about doing a low bun at the nape of my neck but I still have to let the hair grow out some more.
Anyone else doing a tiara? |
