Not wedding related
New home in 2 months!!! Stressed
in 2 months we will finally be in our home!!! I cant wait till April 24th to come. we purchaced our home last year and we were supposed to move in December but the date got pushed back... I was disappointed because I really wanted to celebrate Christmas in our new home. The builder gave us March 6th.... and once again it got pushed back.... at this point I'm fuming because we were renting an apartment and we had told the landlord that we were moving out in March and he started to look for someone else to take over the apartment. So we were left with no choice but to move in with our parents as no apartment building would allow us to move in for only a short time ( they wanted 1 year lease) living with my parents have been crazy. me and my FH have not have any time alone because theres always someone at home and it makes me uncomfortable to be lovey dovey with him ( if you know what I mean ) I respect my parents home.
We just started looking for furniture for the house and I swear Kirk wants to kill me with a stress attack.... Everything I like he hates..... when I finally give in, he starts saying " do what you want, im ok with your choices" I then pick things out he complains!!! i swear today I almost hit him in the head with a table lamp!! arrrrrrr I have done everything on my own. I picked out everything and yet when i ask him to do things together I get stressed out because he is way to picky. I can imagin when we go to pick up our sofa set how things are going to go..... the man does'nt even wash clothes and he wants to pick washer and dryers with me!!!! drives me nuts I tell you!!!! with the house in 2 months and the engagement party in August and all the wedding stuff to do. I think i will lose my hair. ohhh and he tells me he wants another DOG!!!! lol yea good luck with that we already have one who I swear he has a mind of a kid hes a spoiled brat....mark my words there will be no dog!!! :) |

Booked my DJ!!!!!!
Im so excited to finally book my DJ. They are awsome and I got the LED lights to go all over the hall in any color I chose. I have gone to many weddings and so far there hasnt been 1 that I seen that had these LED lights, so I'm excited to see peoples reactions to them. My family and friends have used their services many times before and i have not heard 1 bad thing about them or their services.

So I have seen alot of ladies on here with this sweater and I looked EVERYWHERE for one and I could not find one my size..... well about 2 weeks ago I seem one on Ebay and I placed my bid and WON!!!!
I received it last night and it looks amazing!!!!!! it is awsome for when I get my hair and makeup done on the day of my wedding. and it only cost me $30!!! I think it was a great steal!!! well worth my $30 bucks xoxo D |

Engagement Party
Let the stress begin....
OMG, My FH's family really wants us to have an engagement party, and when I told them that it wasnt something that my family did, they insisted on it and even offered to pay for the whole thing..... now im not complaining about that part, what I am stressing about is the fact that it's in in June and we purchased a new home which is currently being built and should be done by April 29th... so thats leaving me little time to get my house organized and settled in and get my furniture ready blah blah blah. Kirk staight out told me that what ever I wanted it would fine, but I don't want to hear that I want his bloodly help!
So far I got the venue booked. I bought the favor boxes, I'm going to buy a 10LB of personalized MMS ( which I didnt know they did ) so i'm excited about that. I still have no idea on what kind of invitations I want. I see so many ideas on this site and yet I can't settle on anything! I still have to pick flowers and whatever else has to be done. I work long hours and it is impossible to book things in the evening as many places are closed for the day, so I'm finding that I have to do many things at work ( which is not allowed so I have to sneak around doing it) I never thought planning a party could be so much work.... I'm seriously thinking of hiring a planner!!! take care D |

So as I was looking arounf on WBC I noticed alot of ladies on here have these pairs or have chosen shoes for their big day like the ones in the pictures!!! i loveeeee these shoes and I would not mind getting 1 pair of each even if it's for a night on the town, or a nice occision :)

Anywho, I hope i'm not alone in this situation. But I'll explain my story..... Here it goes
I come from a strict Portuguse family I am the oldest out of 4 kids and the only girl!!! growing up my parents mostly my father has been super strict. When me and Kirk decided to move in together my father banned me from the house!!! I couldnt belive it, but at the same time I thought " good riddence" I didn't have to come home everyday to his bad attitude on life. we didnt talk to 2 years. He assumed I was going to fall flat on my face and run back to the house and go on living by his rules....... Well NO WAY IN HELL!! I can gladly say I have NEVER asked my parents for help finiancially or whatever, I have gone though live on my own and I have gotten the things i have myself and for that I am proud. The whole not alking thing lasted 2 years, I guess when he realized that I was never going to crawl back he called me up and asked for things to be good between us both......... Well now lets get to recent times. When me and Kirk got engaged over the chrole chistmas holidays, I made it clear to my parents the plans I had regarding the whole church thing and the wedding venue and the engagement party..... I wasnt expecting my parents to pay for anything, because Like I said I dont need their help on anything, but I didnt expect them to bash every friggen Idea I have!!! This week has been a disaster to me. Monday I went to the dentist ( I hate dentists!!! ) got 2 fillings done ( boy did that hurt especially since the freezing didnt kick in and they had to use 4 friggen needles) Tuesday I was in pain all day, Wednesday I was really excited to finally book the wedding venue and what the hell happens my mom gets sick that we need to take her to the hospital!!!! I can to cancle the meeting with the venue and pray that they dont book the date I want and I get left with crap!!!, Thursday I call the hall to make another appointment and they tell me I have to go that day for the date I want or they would have to give it to the other couple that requested the same date!!! I am about to leave the house and my dad tells me I'm inconciderate!!!! @%$# EXCUSE ME!!!!! that hit a nerve!! I sate with my mom in the hospital for 11 hours!!!! where was his lazy ass....... oh yea at home watching tv!!! yet me got upset when I told him I had to go and book the hall. Well I went and booked the hall and that was that. This morning I went to the house to see how my mom is doing and as I'm coming into the hallway I hear my mom and dad discussing MY WEDDING... I hear my mom saying " well I'm not going to go broke in order to pay for her wedding I have 3 kids to still raise at home, Im going to give my daughter wht I want and if I cant afford anything Im going to put $600 in the wedding card and thats it......." then I hear my dad say back " not our problem she wants a big wedding.... she wants it big thats her problem" Well you can imagian my face when I heard this crap and I stormed into the kitchen and I staight out tell them both " well im not sure why you both are speaking shit for, but not ONCE did I ever mention to either of you that I wanted your help.... it disgusts me you both are here discussing things that arent of importance to you, how I pay for my things are mine and kirks problem" and with that I leave......... Clearly it's now late into the night and the whole thing is still on my mind... I NEVER expected this from my mom, my dad yes but her, I have always helped her out with anything, I have helped out with all my brothers school things, helped her with house things and this is what I get. Thank god for my FH's father who is PAYING FOR MY WHOLE WEDDING as a gift, I wasnt expectig him to, but he's done it for all his married kids and he wanted to do the same for us. it's a shame my set of parents are what they are...... I'm hurt and I dont even know what else to say o them, I have been locked up in my room since his whole thing went down and I do not even want to speak with them, my fiance thinks this well all die down but I can not believe what I heard. This should be a happy time in my life and instead I aleady see problems. Take care D |

Today we are going to go and officialy book the venue for our wedding reception :)
wereally liked what the venue did for my FH's brothers wedding and we decided that we would like to book it for ours. The hall was in repairs over the winter and we went to look at it last weekend and it looked great!!!! it's very much updated and the halls are really nice. When his brother got married 1 and a half years ago they did not do any hall decorating and they had to contract one out,and it was costly ($4.50 for chair covers, banners to go on the ceiling were $500 a bow and the hall would look great with 2 bows, and they alone on decorations for the hall was close to $6000) I did no want to take on this cost, well I got great news from the venue and he informed us that they have a decorator company on site and the cost of decorations were included with the package we chose for the catering!!!!!!!!!! and it's any color theme you desire :) well im totally sold on this and so is my FH. Since me and Kirk come from different religious backgrounds mine being Roman Catholic and his Greek Orthodox we wanted both our cultures to be a big part of our day, so we both decided that we would get married at his church and the venue would be my choice. We talked it over with both sets of parents so that we would no offend anyone in the process, and his family knowing that it was a big deal for me to marry in their church and not mine offered to pay for the whole venue!!!!!! so im trilled that it's one cost out the window :) Well have a great dayabd take care D |

Got my Girls :)
Im excited that I finally got around to asking my favorite Girls to be a prt of my big day :)
I got a really bad cold right after Christmas and I was not able to interact with many people as I did not want anyone catching this horrible cold of mine. Well this past week I called all my girls up and one by one I asked them if they would be in my wedding party and they all said "YES" I'm super excited because these gilrs are great and they have been great friends to me over the past few years and they are truelly great Friends/Family, and I treat them all like the sisters I wish I had ( I'm the only girl in my family. My maid of honor is my sister in law Melynda and shes a super sweet girl and I love her like a sister. My 4 bridesmaids are: Nelly my other sister in law, I introduced her to her husband ( FH's s brother) and we have been great friends since and we are always doing things together. Michelle, she is currently dating my FH's cousin and shes funny and a great person to hang with, always with a smile on her face. Eulalia, we were cowarkeres for 4 years and shes become a sister to me and we are best Friends and shes honored me with being her son's god mother :) Nitsa, is my FH's cousin and shes a great person, and I get along with her great and we have many of the same interests. I'm excited and can't wait to start my planning with my great girl friends Take care D |

Wedding Dress
Suprise advice from a dress store!!
Well I was curious as to how long it would take o have a wedding dress completed for a wedding and after talking about this with a few girlfriends of mine and co workers they all told me their experiences and I was shocked!! god I'm so new to this whole experience. They told me between 8 months to 1 year!!! So I actually called the place I am getting my wedding dress from and I told them the design I'm looking at and the lady tells me 13 MONTHS!!!! my eyes almost came out of my head, I could not believe that. I fully understand it takes alot of work into getting the dress completed and it's fusturating but 13 MONTHS!!!! wow..... so I was just starting to worry about my engagement party and not even looking into the wedding stuff until 12 months before the actual wedding date, but now I'm startig to worry about this dress thing....... I have a few ideas as I have posted some of the dresses I like but alot can happen in 13 months... like what If I change my mind...... well I guess I better start planning for the dress and hope for the best grrrrrrr.

Here are some pictures of my ring!
Last year me and my FH started talking about getting married. I have always told him that I wanted to design my own ring since I would me the one wearing it lol. We went to a direct diamond location and started designing it out. The only thing I did not want to know was what the actual ring would look like in person until he proposed. On Christmas eve he proposed to be in front of my family and it was just right for us both.
