Ain't love grand! |
The Proposal
January 9th, 2006
Having been together 5 years, a year and a half of that being "unofficially" engaged, I really wasn't expecting some grand proposal, more like the typical nice restaurant down on one knee deal but Rich had other plans. He started the afternoon off by sending my son to grandma's house then proceeded to coax me into the car without a known destination. First stop, the former parking lot of Convergy's, where we first met. He handed me a red rose and read a few lines about the significance of the location, kissed me and ushered me back to the car. Next stop, my old apartment, where he picked me up for our first date and we had our first kiss. Again, he handed me a single red rose, read a few lines about the location, kissed me and ushered me back into the car. The third stop was the Art Museum, where we had our perfect day so many years ago. Following suit, he handed me the red rose, read a few lines, kissed me and ushered me back to the car. The last stop was Luna Pier where he and I spent many evenings feeding the ducks, looking at the stars and working out many an argument, this is "our place." This time he read me a few lines then got down on his knee and handed me the rose and asked me to marry him. The ring was attached to the stem of the rose. I said yes, we kissed and with that our engagement became "official." I didn't know until then what a romantic guy my Rich is.
