Ask a Question
How important is a rehearsal?
I've never heard of NOT having a rehearsal but 2 of the potential locations we are looking at we may not be able to have a rehearsal. I'd really like to have one but not sure if it would be a make or break it type thing.

ETA: By rehearsal I am referring to the brief run through of the wedding ceremony with the wedding party, people doing the readings and officiant. We're going to have the dinner which traditionally follows the rehearsal to present gifts and what have you just not sure if we will be able to have the actual rehearsal at the locations.

I'm assuming you mean rehearsal dinner. Your rehearsal should be at the same place you are having your ceremony.

I've been to a wedding where the rehearsal dinner was hosted at the bride and grooms house. It was very nice and everyone enjoyed themselves. The catering was fantastic. They made the apartment into a lounge...way cool...and something to think about.

We're not having one. It's not part of our culture and I don't get it anyway.
Our wedding is small (60 people) so there's no need to have a rehearsal dinner. If it's really important to you, you could have it elsewhere, in a restaurant or maybe throw a BBQ party at home in the garden? I wouldn't abandon a nice venue for them not doing rehearsals.

I was in the similar situation. The place that we are having the wedding didnt offer anything for a rehearsal. I am sure we could have done a walk thru before the ceremony but I didnt see myself having the time to do that. So we are having my rehearsal dinner at my papaw's house. we are going with a picnic theme and we'll do a quick walk thru of the ceremony. that way everyone will have a pretty good idea of how to walk and stand during the ceremony. hope that helps alittle!
