This is princesspeach's Pink Wedding!

Steven and I have decided to push our wedding ahead to July 16, 2011. This will ensure that we are both finished school and settled away before the big day. We feel as though the wedding date will feel more "right" this way, as we won't have to worry about going back to school or anything after the wedding day is over.

However, I am very sad that I have to wait another year to marry the love of life, but it will make the day that much more special.

And, now I have PLENTY of time to plan!

We have 19 months to go and I think I have a good dent in things that should be booked:

Reception Venue/Caterer: Booked and Deposit paid
Wedding Planner: Booked and Deposit paid
DJ: Booked and Deposit paid
Videographer: Booked and Deposit Paid
Decorator: Booked and Deposit paid
Photographer: Booked and waiting on price list to pay deposit


For others who are getting married in 2010, should be anything else that I should have booked by now? I live in a small province in Canada where vendors are not plentiful, so I would like to book the best of the best as soon as possible.

The local mall had a 20% off night and, while I went for Christmas Shopping, I found some beautiful apothecary jars for the candy buffet that I could not resist buying. I bought 2 of the tall one posted, and two heart shaped jars.

Another night my FH and I went to Michael's with our 50% coupon and bought two more jars. So now I have 6 in total. I plan on purchasing more, but since I still have 19 months to go, I'll take the time and wait for some more deals!

I found this ring bearer pillow on etsy.com and it matches our wedding colors perfectly! I just had to have it so I ordered it the other day. I cannot wait until it arrives!! :)

My FH and I plan on getting married outside at the Golf Resort we have booked for the day. I LOVE the idea of the Wedding Arch and when I showed my FH he thought it was a great idea as well. He decided that he wanted it to be something for him to make, preferably with my Father to have some bonding time. I thought it was such a thoughtful idea for him to have, and it will be a nice surprise for me the day of! :)

I have included some photos I have found online and on other bridal sites (I don't remember where now though, sorry). As we live on an island, we thought that making it out of driftwood would be nice, and free. As well, it would be a nice excuse to make a day to walk around the local beaches and such to look for suitable wood!

I ordered Save the Date's through www.vistaprint.ca two weeks ago and they arrived a few days ago! I got them through the free promotion, so I got 100 for $10.00. I am so excited about them!! But, since the wedding isn't until 2010, they're going to be stored for a while yet.

I just ordered my save-the-date postcards from Vistaprint using their 100 free promotion. All I had to do was pay the shipping costs. It looked and sounded great! But maybe it was too good to be true...

I afterwards discovered that a lot of people end up being 'scammed' by Vistaprint. They discover extra charges on the CC for a monthly subscription that they did not sign up for, as well as charges from third-party companies.

For those brides who have used Vistaprint, what kind of experiences have you had?

We have our reception site booked and deposit paid! :)

The ceremony will take place on the golf course, overlooking the beautiful Salmonier River.

Then the reception will take place in the Grand Hall Reception room, which has a patio and access to the grounds.

The Wilds also boasts a hotel, camp ground, and lodge. This was very important to us, as all our guests will have to travel here for the day.

We especially liked this venue because it offers complimentary: bridal suite, bridal shower, gift opening room, pictures on the course, stag, plus the menu was very reasonable!

I am sooo excited to finally get a start on our wedding planning!

Hello everyone! I must admit, I have been following this website for a while now, and I have finally decided to jump on the bandwagon, now that some decisions have been made, particularly the date! :)

I now have to get used to how the blogs and such work, and I will be well on my way to posting! :)
