I am not 100%, but my cousins mom works in the hospital and she told me today that if you donate your centerpieces after the wedding to the hospital (for the patients) then you can count it as a tax write off! I didn't totally believe her, but she said that she has had two different couples do it already this year, so if any of you have centerpieces that you can give away and are looking to get a little larger refund on your taxes you should contact your local hospital. Also, if you really just want to do something nice for your community it is great to take them and donate them to your local retirement home. The people in these homes go crazy when our shop delivers flowers and it crushes me when they aren't for the people who get all excited, so it would be very sweet to give them something pretty to look at for a little while.
Who is your florist? I found someone on Craig's List but I haven't met with her yet. She said she has no overhead so her prices are way cheaper.
