before the crystals
The fabric...all organza is fine, but the satin adds a nice contrast and darkness.
The layers
squares with a four slits.
flower like blobs
burning...watch your fingers! Not to close just the hot air works wonders...the satin is a little harder.
after the burning...organza crumples more than satin.

These are going to make for 6 happy bridesmaids!

DIY Wedding
organza flowers for bridesmaids hair

Well, trying to entertain myself for 71 more days, so I decided to do another DIY project. Thought that the organza flowers would be lovely in my girls hairs, but I already bought all their presents, so it wasn't really in my budget. However, making them came to about $1.50 each.

I read a couple instructions and kind of combined them all to make these.

I bought black organza and then black satin. Each flower has 5 layers...3 organza and 2 satin. I had 3 layers where I simply made a square and then cut 4 slits into it. Then the top 2 layers I cut into these lovely flower like blobs. After I cut everything out I lightly melted the edge with a candle (there is no right or wrong way to do this...just makes the flower fluffy). Then you sew the five together by putting beads in the middle and then I sewed the feathers to the back. Last I used my super duper bejeweler and added a couple crystals the middle. Tada!
