So, after my suggestions the artist sent over the final sketches and here it is. The only thing different is we are changing the font for the names to the same one used for our invites. I love them! Next pic will be of the real things!
I don't know if any of you are artsy, but we found two different things telling you how to do this on shoes and both said get anything, but patent leather...synthetic leather is the best. Then you can do it with sharpie, but you have to get a spray that coats it to protect it from fading, smearing, etc. You can also use acrylic paints, but they also recommend spraying it. He tested it and said so far so good, so if you have more artistic talent then maybe this can help you make a fabulous pair of wedding shoes too!
UPDATE:
