FI doesnt really have a "must-have" list of things for the wedding so when he requested something particular, i'm more than happy to oblige. however, i just find it ironic that of all the things he'd be soooo particular about, it had to be the CAKE. yep. the CAKE.
i showed him photos of stuff i've gathered from the internet - most are cakes with the quilting design that i wanted, but ONE photo had a draping design. i think i took this photo just because it caught my attention. well... out of ALL possible designs, it had to be THAT one... the one with the draping. every other photos i've showed him cannot compare to this ONE photo. he. wants. that. cake.
so when we went to see the baker, they told us that of all the possible cakes, the one FI wanted is the most expensive because it entails more work. soon as i heard the word "expensive" we immediately crossed off that design. we ended up picking a quilted cake.
fast track to yesterday when we were talking about our cake. FI commented "i still like that cake" (the draped cake). then it hit me - he really wants it! i figured, i've been buying stuff that i want for the wedding anyway - FI should get what he wanted since he hasn't requested for much anyway. so i called up the baker, told him about the design change AND negotiated a workable price and "booked" it!!! (it's not official until we come back to sign the paper).
yay! i know FI's gonna be happy...
i'm starting to love the drapings too and starting to forget about the quilts...
(btw, it'll be a red velvet cake *yum*)
