I was planning on blogging every single day in August up until the wedding day to chronicle my most exciting month but I missed an entry for yesterday! *boo* (I have my reasons though and it's wedding related - spent most of the day working with 2 of the best gals I've known: my MOH & Usherette-turned-BM!!!)
I had originally planned on working on the favors (putting labels on favors) but I miscalculated and ran out of labels so we ended up doing the table numbers.
Now lemme backtrack a bit... if you've been following my posts, you should know that I have 30 apothecary jars sitting in my basement. It was supposed to be my original centerpiece when I thought we were having a simple wedding - which of course after watching WeTV, TLC and non-stop wedding channel - has changed and our "simple" wedding transformed into a grand event! (It also did not help that FI invited a TON of people - that's going to be a different blog all-together). So in my attempt to dispose all of these 30 jars, I thought of using them as table numbers!
So I ordered vinyl decals from
Coins4Sale (I know, the name is misleading. She DOES personalized decals though) but my mistake was I ordered it in WHITE... and I didn't know it was too narrow... but the deed is done and can't back out of it (I refuse to pay extra since I've spent a LOT already just figuring out how to re-use these jars!!!).
Back to yesterday afternoon, my MOH & BM helped me glue personalized ribbons and stick the vinyl decals on the jars. My mom later joined our assembly-line and that extra hand helped speed up the process. (Btw, we started out at around 5pm and ended at 11pm!) All finished jars are back in their boxes for safe-keeping and closer to the date, we will be filling this out with gold water jewels & floralytes to make it glow like the one sample photo that I was able to make (note, it's only half-filled with jewels, we'll make it full for the day-of).
A couple of things I've learned from the DIY session yesterday:
My MOH has a talent for glues
MY BM has a talent for ribbons
My Mom is a natural with decals
The coin is better than the credit card
S Club 7!!!
and most of all...
4-pair of hands is better than 1-pair of hands ^_^
So to my Mom, BM, MOH - thanks for stopping me from becoming a solo-DIY-er-bridezilla!!!
