How early is too early to start doing DIY projects I have 14months to go. But my FH thinks im nuts for wanting to do some of it now. Im working and going to school so I figure when I acctually have time to do somthing I should. I can see 2 months before the wedding nothing is done and ill be going crazy. When did anyone start doing their projects??

I'm designing stuff with Photoshop right now (14 months to go, also), but I won't print/assemble for quite a while. Sure, it may be good to get some things done, but depending on the amount of DIYs you do, the messier/crowded it gets! LOL!

Ok. I waited TOO long to do my DIY projects. I kept thinking that I should wait until I felt really organized before I started but now I realize I probably should have started earlier. It all ended up taking a lot longer than I anticipated for each project! The only downside I see to starting now is if you change the theme, colors or look of the wedding. If you're confident that part is set in stone then I say GO FOR IT! Especially if you feel inspired! I have such a hard time making myself work on my DIY projects because i HAVE to lol when I could have done so in the heat of my inspiration! :D

i would agree with marilynsprotege, its never too early to start.  i also find its a good plan to not complete the projects completely, leave that till the last couple of months.  that way if there has been any damage during storage you can sort that out and add the finishing touches to get the just made feeling.

I as well agree with everyone. It's definately not too early to start. I wish i started earlier but i couldnt decide on exactly what I wanted to do that early. Now with my wedding next week i've been hectic doing projects. If you know what you are doing definately start your projects and anything you can get accomplished. The more you get done now the less stressed you will be later on. Every checkmark on my list is a relief. Best of luck on the projects!!

I do not think it really is EVER too early to start with your DIYs.... the thing is are you indecisive? Because if you are, you might put in all this work just to have you ideas change... Just going to put it out there. If you are not indecisive (re: theme, color, items) then you're a student and any spare time you have (willing you have the storage capacity) is well spent ahead of time in order to gain some sanity at the last moment from one life-long student + DIYer to another. Goodluck ;) Keep us posted with your DIYs!!
