Long awaited and thankfully it's finally here!
I will spare you all the gongshow story of what actually happened and only tell you the basics....
Denilor Bridal in Edmonton has been having financial troubles and yet they are still technically in business. They haven't been paying their suppliers and therefore the dresses have not been coming in. My wedding is now in 24 days and I only got my dress last night.
Alfred Sung (Jai International) SUCKS!!!!
After many frustrating phone calls to the supplier (Alfred Sung/Jai International) and many attempts to pay them directly for the dress...they finally agreed when I told them that if they couldn't do this then I would have to go elsewhere for a dress and they could keep their dress and sell it to someone else.
They threatened me and yelled at me (granted I yelled too) but talk about crap customer service. They lied to me throughout the summer, lead me to believe I would get my dress with plenty of time and even blamed me for the store not paying their bills. Because afterall I should have pushed harder. Are you kidding me?
In the end I paid the manufacturer directly, to their chagrin and they shipped me the dress directly! This has been going on for many many months already.
I realize that some brides may be comfortable waiting till the last minute to choose their dresses, to order their dresses and to receive their dresses, but that is just not me! I am a planner by nature and I ordered this dress in November 2008 (that's 10 months before my wedding date). I am not comfortable waiting till the last minute to get this stuff taken care of no matter what others do.
Bottom line Alfred Sung/Jai International has horrible customer service and I feel for anyone who is getting screwed by them. Denilor Bridal in Edmonton is sadly beyond the point of struggling now and they are likely going out of business very soon. The owner (liar) claims that she is "retiring" when in reality her business is failing and she is simply too unwilling to admit this out loud.
I hope for the sake of all brides out there that they have been as direct and firm as they possibly can when trying to deal with either of these companies. I wish you all the very best and I hope no one else is dealing with the same crap that I have been dealing with, although I know I am not alone in this one unfortunately.
Thanks for the support everyone while I freaked out .
I do not believe that a company should put this much unnecessary stress on a bride as it gets closer and closer to her wedding day. I think that is horrible and these businesses should know better.
This is of course my "polite" voice talking now...there have been too many tears shed over this and I am thankful to say that it's finally done.
Now we fight for my 50% deposit back from Denilor....we'll see what happens there!
