woo hoo ... we got our marriage licence yesterday! It was $130, are you friggin kidding me.. why the hell is it so pricey! Gotta love Toronto!

I swear ppl hear wedding and automatically increase prices! It's just ridiculous!

like at my church i have to give a $300 "donation" to the church to have my ceremony there and if i want to use the church Choir i need to fork up another $150 and it's not like they're a "professional" signing group either..its just random ppl from the community that play and sing DAMN... but my mom wants them so ugh what to do!!

Everything else is ready!

I just need to actually do the Itinerary for the day of and print the ceremony menus..

I was going to do ceremony programs - but I think they're a waste of my time??? does anyone else think so?

right now I'm working on our reception slide show...

I still need to find my jewelry and go with my cousin to pick up the flower girl dress.

Wow $130?! Why is Toronto so expensive? I work in Pickering, So I got our marriage license at town hall in Pickering...and it was only $100 here. So odd that the price changes throughout the province.

Personally I think programs are great if you are having a religious ceremony where most of your guests aren't of that religion.....it will help them follow along through the ceremony. We had a Catholic ceremony, and there was maybe a total of 8 out of our 125 guests that are Catholic, so I made programs so they would understand what was going on. If you don't have the time, it's really not a big deal.

Check out Bitter Sweet for your jewelry (www.bittersweetonline.com), they have several locations across the GTA. That's where I bought my necklace, bracelet and earrings for $75. The girl that helped me was very helpful, and they have a nice selection.

we aren't doing programs, but we aren't having a religious ceremony so I didn't think they were needed.

It's insane that prices change across the provine since the licence bought in any municipality can be used anywhere in Ontario. I've looked into this too, but for the $ I'd "save" to go outside of Toronto I might as well just pay the extra few $ for the convenenience of picking up in T-dot.

As for programs, I personally love them but agree that they're a "waste". It's totally up to you. If you're feeling overwhelmed, then don't worry about it.

Yes, 130$ is insane as much as any other prices...
By the time we get married next year it is probably gonna cost 150$. MAybe they think it is not that expensive but when you have so many things to pay IT IS.

If everyone is into the same religion you are you dont really need to have programs. But is more of a guide for people to know what is going on. I am making mine. I still need to print and ensamble mine hehe...
