Wedding Decoration
Table Linen - Can't decide what to use..
Hi Ladies!
I need your help with deciding on what combination to use for my table linen! I originally wanted to use a black and white damask overlay (picture 1) with fuchsia napkins(picture 2). But when I went to place my order, they where both out of stock! the overlays would be in stock late August and the napkins wouldn't be in until the end of September. I don't think I want to have these arrive a week or two before the wedding as I would need to press them and have them to the hall the week before the wedding. My other option is doing the reverse, having a fuchsia and white damask overlay (picture 3) with black napkins (picture 4). Both setups will have a black table cloth underneath. My colours are Black and White damask with fuchsia accents. I have also attached a picture of my center piece (picture 5) that will have fuchsia gebera daisies instead of white. So Ladies....... which one do you think? |

Originally it was to be less then a year to plan the wedding but things got pushed back as my FH was diagnosed with Cancer and we had to get him well again before we could get married! Will you do it yourself or with family or hire someone to plan the wedding? I have hired a wedding planner, but since I am so hands on I think I could have gotten away with just a day of coordinator instead. Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made? I want to write my own vows, but FH doesn't. We are going to work with the Minister to see what we can come up with. |

We went with the Black and White damask pocket invitations from Michaels. I had no problems designing or printing them. Wording was a difficult choice as my mom was VERY picky as what we should say in OUR invitations lol. Anyways I love them and I hope you do too!! |

Wedding Photography
Photography, Video and DJ BOOKED!!
I am so glad that we where able to check off three major vendors in one go!!
We decided instead of going through different companies that we would book from the same one. Their work is great, and their prices are fantastic! Since they have all worked together in the past they know how each other works and the photographer and video person won't be fighting for camera time and will work together! We also decided to get the upgraded DJ package so we will get lots of lighting, up lighting, dry ice, disco ball the full nine yards! it is exactly what I was looking for! Best part, after getting the second top package for all three we still came in under budget!!! |

Road Bump
A Chapter we never thought we would have to face
After we had booked our hall and was looking into other bookings we get some news that we where not expecting.
Kevin had went to his doctors in early October complaining of trouble breathing as he was always wheezing when he laid on his back. Initially the family doctor thought it was Asthma but took a chest x-ray just to be safe. Not even a week later we get a call that Kevin has to go see the doctor ASAP, so the next day he is up to his family doctors. After that day, we where in auto mode. Kevin was referred to a surgeon as they found a huge mass in his chest that needed to be looked at. At the end of October he was scheduled for a biopsy to see what the large mass is in his chest. That biopsy came back inconclusive so Kevin had to be put in for rush surgery on November 11th. We where not prepared for this and the things that would come next. After the biopsy was done, we where told it was some form of Cancer. CANCER?!?!? we where in total shock! This was to be a happy time in our lives, new house, newly engaged and planning a wedding. No one was supposed to get Cancer! After many more tests and doctor's appointments Kevin was finally diagnosed with having Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 3A. At that point we just shut everything down and concentrated on getting him well. Kevin was scheduled to have 12 rounds of chemotherapy followed by possible radiation. We have come along way since then, and I am glad to say Kevin is doing ok, and he only has 2 more chemo treatments to go!! On May 20th will be his last treatment!! We are very excited! This whole experience has been a tough battle, but it has brought us even closer and just secured our bonds. A lot of people said we should just go to city hall and get married, but I knew Kevin would pull through this and come out the other side better then ever and we could then celebrate our love, and journey together! If anyone is interested in following our Cancer journey I have kept a blog going at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kevinwatt And I am glad to announce we have started our wedding planning again and our new wedding date is October 23, 2010!! |
