Wedding Cake
what my cake ended up looking like
this is what my cake ended up looking like. It is actually a fake cake, but a lot of people thought that it was real. We just bought some slab cake, had it hidden and when we cut our piece of cake we had a piece hidden behind and fed each other. work out great. Although we had a deal not to smash into each others faces, I guess we broke our deal. Wedding traditions!!!

Things that you would change on your big day
There is a few things that I would change if I could go back. The first thing I think would have been the processional music. I had 1 song for the girls and another one for me, I think I would have just picked one song for everyone. I am really not sure which one I would have rather had. I definitely would have danced more and had a lot more people dance. It rained so we had to change our photo site, a lot of people say it is good luck if it rains on your wedding day, lets hope its good luck and not bad because it didnt just rain all day it poured. The heavens opened up and it let all its reserve rain go on my day. But I guess I couldnt have done anything about the rain. I would have had a babysitter arranged for my girls when it got really late, but I figured something out and it worked out, but it would have been nice if something was planned. The biggest I would have changed would to have been to enjoy the day more and better, it went by so fast and I was definitely sad when the day was over, I wish it could have lasted longer. And I am sure there is more little things, I just cant think of them right now.
If you guys could go back on you wedding day or another day of planning your wedding day is there something that you wished you could have changed or fixed? |

Pomanders
So I made pomanders to hang at the reception site and I didnt even hang them. What I did was I hung them from the front of the head table. I made 5 and it worked out perfectly. After I decorated the hall the head table still needed to be jazzed up so I used them to decorate the table.When I get the pictures I will show you how it looked. I really liked it, it was different but it looked great.

Finally...
I finally got to see my professional pictures, I cannot upload them here because they are copyrighted on his site, but when I get them in my hands I'll have to let you guys see some. I am very happy with what we got. And I am very happy that we decided to change photographers at the last minute. (a week to our wedding) it was well worth or money. Can't wait for you guys to see them.

Wedding Cake
update
We have decided to go to Cosco and get 2 slab cakes, 1 has raspberry filling and the other has chocolate filling. Then for a look of a wedding cake we have rented a fake cake from Lloyds of Moncton. I was going to make one but I am running our of time with everything else that has to be done. I wasn't able to see it, so I hope it doesn't look too cheesy.

Who else has decided to do a sand ceremony
We have decided to do a sand ceremony. I love the wording that will be said during the sand ceremony. The colors that we have picked are pink and blue. We chose those colors for our birthstones. I originally wanted black and white, it would fit in with our decor and we are wearing those colors. but being the man that he is, he thought that if we used pink and blue, it would represent us and would have more meaning to us. The only problem I seen with this is that my color is blue (September) and his is pink (October) and everyone might be like "why does she have blue and him pink?" So to fix this problem I will pour his color and he will pour mine.

Shoes
My footwear, everyone thinks that they are really high, but when I saw them I was like I can rock those and I dont wear heels at all. I know that they are black but no one will see them under my dress plus since they are black I can defiantly wear them again. During the reception I am going to wear silk pink ballet like slippers. I am going to dance my but off.

I have finally figured out how I am going to set up the tables. I will spread them out more at the hall but this is an idea of how it will look. What do you guys think?
the 4 outside jars I am going to put water and candles in them. I could not find floating candles anywhere! so I had to get tea lights, they don't last as long or look as nice, but they still float and they will give the look I am going for, for the first part of the night. After that everyone will be drinking and probably wont notice them at all. LOL!! I am also going to place the favors and thank you scrolls on the tables. The tablecloths are white so the red will really pop. Love it! |
