Okay so Im not sure where to go on this one I guess I'll just have
to try them on and see what happens, I really like the birdcage types
however, not for the actual ceramony I was thinking for photos taken
by myself before the ceramony then switching to a nice full one for
the ceramony. what are you planning on wearing ,if one at all?

Mine is fingertip length with slightly scalloped edges and some scattered black beading around the edges.  It was a perfect match for my dress with black detailing.  Plus it was on sale!  I actually bought the veil before I bought the dress :-)

You're right, the best option is to try different stuff on and see if it works for you.  Switching veils might get a little tricky unless you have a hairdresser on hand to help with any tangles or tugging...

Mine is a birdcage veil - they have the mantilla ones (like last pic you have) on ebay for really reasonable, I was going to go for one of those but it would have completely taken from my dress.
