DIY Fabric Flowers
Tutorial On 100 Layer Cake Blog

I made a bunch of fabric flowers to cover the tables at our reception. They truly were a labor of love. They were really easy to do, were therapeutic at just the right time in my wedding planning process, AND I was happy to see girls from the reception taking them home. I hope that they become broches, headbands, bracelets, hair clips, or something equally fun!!

The girls at 100 Layer Cake saw my tutorial on here a few posts back and thought it would be a hit with their readers so I updated some of the information and pictures with the hopes of making it much more user friendly and voila! Here we are and I hope to see tons of happy little flowers everywhere!

We'll see if it gets posted tomorrow or ends up getting pushed back :) I'll keep ya posted!

You explained everything so well.  Even the complete idiot sewer (that'd be moi) understood where you were going!  Well played, ma'am.

Again, so so so so so so so SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO sooooooooooo cool (really, so exciting) that you were on 100 Layer Cake!  If I were in Phoenix, I'd head to the nearest dive bar and treat you to cheapest beer they had.  (Kidding!  Maybe the second cheapest beer... ha ha.) The recognition is well-deserved, you little creative genius, you.  :)  I bet you relive little moments of your wedding day each time you look at  your pictures, hear a song, etc.  Now, the marriage can begin, and I know it will be an amazing journey for the two of you!

Ok, and I know you just posted a step-by-step tutorial, but have you ever considered opening up a little sewing project shop or sell stuff on Etsy?  It's totally worthy.

Totally random.  Going through my Google Reader this morning and your 100 Layer Cake post came up.  20 people "liked" it.  :)  Didn't know if you'd see that or not, and just thought I'd share!

I loved your tutorial it was so clear and easy!. I bought supplies off of SweetSweetCircles on Etsy; they’re just pre-cut circles but it saved me so much time (and money) because I didn’t have to out and do the grunt work myself. I ended up making matching shoe and hair clips for my bridesmaids and they LOVED them!!
