Ask a Question
What is your signature drink?
I'm toying with the idea of this for the cocktail reception. Who is having a signature drink and how are you displaying them? Are you having some pre-made and displayed like this photo? Interested in your thoughts.

I wanted to have a caramel apple martini (the red kind)  I'm still thinking about it.  Now, a nice pina colada with cream would be nice and just in case someone spills it, it would not ruin something.  I went to a wedding with strawberry daquiri and cream but their wedding was black, red and white.

We decided not to have signature drinks but will have an open bar for our guests.

we haven't got as far as planning the display etc. but we're doing two cocktails- his & hers. Mine is a cosmo and his is a jack & coke. They're our favourites so regardless of if it matches our theme, we're doing them. lol

We're having frozen hot chocolate.  We don't have anything chocolate brown in our color scheme, but I love having something different, & yummy.  Plus it compliments our coffee station.  As for the display, there will be apothecary jars with marshmallows, & other fixins...this will pretty much be a maid to order type of thing.

Since not many of our friends and family drink alcohol, we've decided to go with an non alcoholic alternative. Since our colors are pink and green, we are having lime ade and pink lemonade

We are having an open bar, and also a green apple martini fountain. You can talk to your caterer and see if they have any silver punch fountains you can use for it. I know someone who did a pink cosmo martini fountain, which is where I got the idea. It looks really awesome when it's turned on and the martini glasses are sitting all around. This way guests can help themselves.

What your drink should be is a :
1/2 shot of chambourd
1/2 shot midori
1/2 malibu rum
splash of sour  and fill with equal parts of pineapple and orange juice....you can call it the shady lady!  JMO!

We are doing a variety of cocktails - cosmos, choc. martinis, cuba libres and caesars (Canadian version of Bloody Mary) and sparkling cranberry cider and champagne cocktails.  I do want to have one table set up for the champagne/cider for when people arrive as having the ceremony/reception at same time.  I thought it would look very elegant for everyone to have their champagne flutes while the ceremony was going on and then at end can do toast right away and get into the party immediately.  Yes, doing the drinks in advance will help out bartender.  Good luck.
